Actually, I think it was more than that. He was an enforcement officer for a corrupt and degenerate system that tramples the truth and serves to perpetuate injustice over the very populace that pays its bills. When a system is based on lies, and discourages truth-telling, this is the result that should be expected. You've heard the saying, "the truth will out"? The truth in this matter finally came out and it was more than this former officer's mind could bear.
When you lay down with dogs, you're bound to get up with fleas.
We need to realize that we are in a war and in war there are casualties. What war, you say? The war against lies and the truth, the war against good and evil. The LAPD has already taken sides by encouraging its members to lie, cheat and steal, and by holding in derision and contempt the very people it is sworn to protect.
By encouraging its members to perjure themselves they have declared who they really serve, namely, the father of lies. In no way would I consider this rogue cop to be a hero, but perhaps in this matter we will learn that the truth does matter. After all, there are now two "innocent" people very dead as a result of all the lies that have been told in this case.
I’m talking about the consequences of his actions, not whether they were right or wrong. A probationary officer can keep his head down until he is off probation or he can risk his career fighting the system. He should have known what he was getting in to. A probationary officer can be fired for almost any reason.
Officers don’t earn “Good Conduct MEDALS.”
It that how you gain trust in a LE organization? By covering up the illegal actions of your "brothers" (or sister, in this case.)
I wasn’t reading really closely, but I remember him mentioning video of the incident in question.
If there wasn’t a reason to rough the guy up, then it was RIGHT of him to report the one who did it. If there was a reason, then the officer should have had no trouble explaining what had happened. But at least from what this guy said (which I realize is only half the story), it sounded like they didn’t really even bother to check into it but called him a “bully” and got rid of him because they didn’t want accountability.
As with every place, there are conscientious people and corrupt people, all together. What I most recently know about the LAPD is that an LAPD officer lied his butt off regarding the arsenic poisioning of Michael Cormier, a technician at the LA County Coroner’s Office who died the day that Breitbart’s autopsy was released, after being poisoned by arsenic 2 days earlier. Though arsenic poisoning leaves the ability to track down the perpetrator relatively easily, the LAPD did not investigate the leads that would have been available immediately. When a possible connection with Breitbart’s autopsy was raised, the LAPD cop stepped in to try to make it seem like Cormier really wasn’t poisoned - that the doctors thought it was a perforated bowel (a rapidly-fatal condition if untreated) so they sent him home at first. The fact that the poisoner did the poisoning in such an obvious way, as if they knew the police wouldn’t investigate.... followed by the police not investigating..... suggests more to the story. It suggests that the cops were in with the bad guys who poisoned Cormier. The lies to cover up what really happened seem to corroborate that appearance.
It sounds to me like this guy (Cormer?) believed that the only way to speak loud enough for anybody to confront a culture of corruption was by drawing a lot of blood.
A good question that could be asked is, “What - besides a lot of blood - WOULD confront the culture of corruption, if one exists at the LAPD? What were the legitimate means for a whistleblower there, that make “alternative” violent means unnecessary? (Not that I’m justifying the violent means, just that I’m trying to hear what the guy was actually saying, in the interest of keeping this from happening again, either there or elsewhere).
No whistleblower protections while you’re on probation?
As long as you don't mind adult langauge and mind-numbing stupidity it is very informative. Funny as hell, too. Of course, it is now over 110 pages - so make sure you have some free time.
Here is another repost from one who supposedly knew him in College and service. Sounds like the guy is more crazy/lazy/angry affirmative action than anything else. Does not mean he cannot get a lot of things right in spite of all that. "I've known Chris Dorner since 1997 while we were at college together at Southern Utah University. Upon graduation from college I headed off to prepare for Marine OCS. He had aspirations to do the same. While as a poolie awaiting to go he had trouble meeting the PFT requirements (specifically the 3 mile run) the OSO basically told him to go away and try again when you can meet the requirements. I left for Marine OCS and after TBS. During this time I learned he had gone to Navy OCS. He was at Navy OCS while I was in Pensacola for API (Pre flight training). We reconnected there and became very close and looked forward to our military careers. He subsequently upon OCS graduation attended API as well. I talked him into coming out to Vance AFB in Enid, Ok with me to go fly the T-37. I was excited to have a friend go attend flight school with me. He was a couple of classes behind me so I felt I could assist him with lessons I learned. Well....Flight School quickly became too much for him. He had trouble with air sickness, he was always unprepared and was way behind the airplane. He was failing tests academically. Ultimately he washed out of flight training. In his opinion this wasn't his fault and it was the instructors who had it out for him. When he tried to pull that card I called BS on it and pointed to his lack of studying and preparation. Told him maybe he should play less video games and other extra curricular activities. Thats when he became upset with me, feeling I had turned my back on him. He then made allegations against me that threatened my completing flight training. That was unsubstantiated and obviously I completed and continued on with my career. This is where I saw his vengeful side. Here is the underlying thing with Dorner and what may have lead to this extreme lashing out. Everything he had tried to accomplish he has failed. Marines..Failed, Navy..Flight School...Failed. LAPD ....Failed. That was the straw that broke the camels back. He always was a troubled individual....and really this doesn't surprise me one bit. He is just out trying to make a name for himself. Just can't believe things got this bad for him, but he has a history. I have a lot more dirt, but Ill leave it with this wall of text. Hes a nutjob and its sad it had to come to this."
Note this:
Told him maybe he should play less video games and other extra curricular activities. Thats when he became upset with me, feeling I had turned my back on him. He then made allegations against me that threatened my completing flight training. That was unsubstantiated and obviously I completed and continued on with my career. This is where I saw his vengeful side.
Yeah, I saw that. Certainly adds another dimension to the story.
He said/she said. That’s where tapes would come in handy. I thought I read him saying that there was video of the incident.
He went into the sewer and couldn’t handle the smell. His manifesto is about racism, perceived slights, and corruption.
If you’re going to be a whistleblower, writing a disjointed, rambling, racist screed and killing innocent people is not the way to go about it.
Perfect insight, needs to be said louder.
Hey, this reminds me of Hunger Games. I am rooting for Dorner/S.
Oh, I wonder why we are still waiting for John Kerry’s U S Navy record but Dorners was published just like that..Badabang Badabing!
Candor7, read my comment 107 or the excerpt in 108.
I'll see your John Kerry and raise you one Lee Harvey Oswald.
Lee Harvey Oswald doesn’t count.
IF he did what he’s been credited with doing....he performed a community service!
Now....James Carville? You may be onto something.
