GLASTONBURY
(Excerpt) Read more at articles.courant.com ...
Unfortunately in this state (Connecticut) if you needed a bat for every supporter of the Marxist-in-Chief you’d personally float Louisville Slugger for the decade. It’s no surprise that the leftists here are out in force and gloating, as there are far more Obama bumper stickers evident after the election.
...”Its not a good idea to be flipping the bird when you dont know who might be carrying.”....
This type of statement is what causes gun-fearing people to think concealed carry is a bad thing. I sincerely doubt any person who has been certified or licensed for CC would think about pulling his or her weapon in response to being flipped the bird. That is ludicrous. Now, the CC individual may be justified in drawing on a bat wielding jerk, if said jerk tried to use the bat on the CC person directly. The key principle - not drawing your weapon unless you intend to kill your target - holds always.
It was the middle finger, not the bumper sticker, that led to the stupid attack
<><><><><
LOL. It was the response to the middle finger that led to the stupid attack.
There is nothing in the attached article that indicates that the bumper sticker was even the cause of the flipping off, beyond bat wielders assumption. For all we know, bat wielder is a crappy driver who cut bird flipper off.
Sounds like a pretty straightfoward road rage incident to me.
Thin skinned, oversensitive A-hole with a baseball bat couldn’t keep his fragile ego in check.
I had an idiot flip me a double bird in traffic recently. I just blew him a kiss and that stopped him. He cut me off and figured that I wouldn’t respond.
I chuckled over that all day.
So the Impeach Bush bumper stickers were okay then ....
I've also noticed seeing many more Obama (and even more laughable: Obama-Biden) bumper stickers on cars here in The People's Republik of Connecticut since the election.
Ugh, I hate this place politically and morally. Looking forward to the day (someday) when hubby and I can move outta here...
By age 61 a person should learn the art of self-control. And not be shocked that such a bumper sticker would provoke this kind of response.
Now he gets to pay the price for being stupid.
Great response...I’ve done the same in the past...blow them a kiss. That makes them madder than just about any other response you could employ...
He should have to pay for damages. His right to respond and take action against the flipper ends at the flipper’s property line.
Hey, I’m 61 and have an IMPEACH OBAMA sticker mounted on my truck bumper.
To date, I’ve not had anybody flip me the bird.
I doubt that the 9MM BEATS 9-1-1, EVERY TIME sticker on the other side of the bumper has anything to do with that, either.
I see I’m not alone in this approach.
If only I’d thought of it earlier in life, so that my 3 kids would not have the ammunition to regale family gatherings with stories of me flipping off other drivers when they were too young to know what it meant.
By age 61 a person should learn the art of self-control. And not be shocked that such a bumper sticker would provoke this kind of response.
Yes once a guy brandished a crowbar at me. It flew out of his hand bounced across the road and landed right at my feet. I picked it up and asked him what was he going to do with this?
He fled...LOL
And suddenly Obama's flying monkeys will scream and make this nutcase the poster boy for every conservative American opposed to Hussein's "destroy America" campaign.
"Typical Republican," they will scream hysterically. Never mind that similar scenarios occur in reverse every day. That's why there are not more "Impeach the fake president" stickers around. The ONLY reason. People with a job who work need their vehicles more than they need to voice political opinions on their car.
He needs to shut up, call his lawyer, and get the best deal he can get. He's screwed.
“If someone flips you the bird like this the correct response is to just laugh at them. Point and laugh. That ticks them off to no end and you win.”
I like your suggestion. I usually give them a big, enthusiastic “thumbs up” and I find that confuses the heck out of them.
If you get mad when someone flips the bird at you you are giving a complete stranger power over your emotions. I wave too.
Agreed... A big, enthusiastic thumbs up IS THEE best response.
