NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) Violent, thieving mobs have been making headlines across the country for the past few years, and now they have hit New York City.
And Maurice Dubois reported in this CBS 2 investigation, the teen mobs have left neighborhoods worried as businesses take matters into their own hands.
Judson Bennett, 78, recently ran into a violent group of teens often described with the once-benign term flash mob as he made his daily trip to buy a newspaper at his favorite news team.
Im approaching the newsstand, and then suddenly there is a tremendous force behind me, Bennett said.
Bennett ended up with a broken arm.
I was taken completely by surprise, he said.
In New York and across the country, the mobs of kids 20, 30, 40 or more appear out of nowhere and suddenly charge a newsstand or convenience store.
They ransack, steal and wreak havoc with no consideration for customers, such as Bennett, who get in their way.
They assemble, they do whatever it is that theyre going to do, and then they disassemble in a matter of minutes, said Jon Shane, assistant professor of criminal justice at John Jay College. By the time somebody recognizes what is happening or is injured, if the police are able to respond, its slow.

Shut off all Obunga-phones, now!
It will be a bigger problem in disarmed cities. There, any mob beats any individual or small group.
Try it in a gas station in SC, and you might get carried out feet first. Thirty round magazines, baby. The first few go down, the rest will scatter pronto.
And it won’t be repeated in that county for a generation.
We are now watching our beautiful country die right before our eyes.
God is withdrawing His blessings from the US, and the withdrawal will be complete in a couple of more years.
All opposition by R's to Zer0's "rule" is decreasing by the day. Our last line of defense, the House of Representatives, are in the process of giving up.
The desire to get elected one more time is trumping liberty.
It is hard for my old eyes to watch my "fellow Americans" become welfare wards of the state...all dignity, honor, integrity and self respect....
....gone.
So it goes...
“Just wait til Flash Mobs become a political tool of terror..............”
Sounds like you have read my novels.
My new writing project is called “Alas, Brave New Babylon.”

I don’t see a problem here that couldn’t be taken care of by an M134 Minigun ...
Strangely enough, I was watching “Battle Royale” on NetFlix last night.
In a future Japan, after the country has gone to shit, they decide to Shanghai entire high school classes and ship them to an island to fight to the death.
So, yeah. Just putting that out there.
What would be really interesting is if these feral subhumans tried to invade the IRS building or the Commerce Dept. building or some other government office building. Does anyone here think that the government wouldn't hesitate to shoot first and ask questions later?
This kind of crime can be fought with cyber tactics.
A workable solution instead of any "death wish" vis: Bronson.
I am not, repeat not decrying American law enforcement here, but the long arm of the law in Canada maybe working. The Stanley Cup riots in Vancouver in 2011 saw whites involved. Stores looted and one poor man assaulted trying to stop 15 thugs. Could not take their team losing.
Using surveillance tapes, facebook and private individuals; 872 charges on 215 persons. True, it is taking time and todate 40 have been in court. I googled this situation and the first entry is a defense lawyer, who offers to handle the poor dears appearance before the courts.
I would think the police full well know what they might do. (One). Issue a warrant for the nastiest and baddest. Ok, so it will be a big joke for a few days. If they hide, even their friends will smugly distance themselves.
Not for me to say what the courts should, or should not decide. But the intimidation of identifying the suspects and a warrant issued might act as a deterrent. It sure has up Canada way re the type of riot in Vancouver, but even now the faint specter of feral mobs is just appearing in other parts in Canada
Thus a few thoughts here.
I will do as the Party wishes, Gasshog.
I made a mistake in that previous post.
I recognize your position in the Party apparatus,
and your value as a mentor.
I will not make that mistake again.
But I would call it “redistributive justice”, instead.
Once again my thanks,Gasshog.
I remain your humble and obedient Servant as we lurch
and rumble toward “A New Tomorrow”.
Yeah, that’s what immediately come to my mind.
Which means that WE have to no longer remain "law abiding" where the "law" infringes upon our constitutional rights. Carry a "clean" piece, purchased privately and never declared, never handle it or the ammunition without surgical gloves. After offing the nearest few perps and putting the rest to flight, pretend to be helping one of them while getting your gun covered with his prints and some DNA.
"I thought they were gonn'a kill me...I got his gun away...I want my lawyer!" < /wishful dreaming >
Cuomo and Bloomberg have made sure that there are no personal firearms to protect the victims of flash mobs.
KIDS? No, THUGS! And the only thing that'll make them think twice is seeing some of their number end up dead.
KIDS = Feral Bastards
Hey, watch it!
