If a ban can't pass the Senate, it certainly won't pass in the House. Consider the assault weapons ban a dead issue, while the ammunition limit is alive and well.
Senate Democratic leaders expect a gun bill to move to the Senate floor that includes most of the proposals backed by President Barack Obama, with the notable exception of a ban on military-style, semiautomatic weapons, a top aide to Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada said.
The bill would likely seek to limit the capacity of ammunition magazines; expand background checks to include sales at gun shows and other private transactions; and require better record keeping to keep guns out of the hands of those with mental illnesses. It would also try to curb gun sales in states with more relaxed gun laws to buyers in states with stricter laws.
But the strategy outline also reflects a growing sense within Democratic ranks that some of the president's most ambitious goals-particularly the call for new bans on certain types of military-style guns often described as assault weapons-may be unrealistic, the Reid aide said.
The goal is to get the bill to the Senate floor next month, at which point lawmakers could then seek to amend the legislation by adding a ban on certain semiautomatic weapons or other provisions, the aide said.
The details provide the first snapshot of how Senate Democrats plan to move forward on major gun legislation in coming weeks...

You can’t spell “Fuhrer” without “FUHR”.
They will pass it so we can see what’s REALLY in it!
This will be as effective as having all criminals register as criminals! Duh the Democrats at work. Take the word Oxymoron and apply it to anything that Obama wants Example Affordable Healthcare - oxymoron defined - a rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined. another example Federal Government Saves Money (That is definitely an oxymoron).
We The People need to make it clear to these treacherous bastards that WE WILL NOT COMPLY.
This entire mess is a faux issue and it needs to be completely destroyed....every damn piece of it.
See America, we're just trying to be reasonable. We've compromised and dropped the assualt ban. All we're we're asking for is a ban on ammo, concealed carry, ice cream, and naked babies. These NRA whackos are being obstructionists and won't budge. The NRA is being led by the Tea Party and all conservatives everywhere.
I dont have a problem with 10 round clips.
And why the Hell do you have to prove you are stupid by calling a magazine a "clip?" For God's sake, they re not "clips." They are "magazines." It matters.
Magazines contain and feed ammunition, clips are what bullets come attached together on and are jammed into a magazine with or without the clip
No it’s not semantics, they are different devices that perform different functions
***I used to carry a .357 6-shot revolver, ....... Im faced with a damned flash mob of dozens of Amish. ****
Back in 1968 I kept a cheap pistol, unloaded, in my truck. One day I missed my entrance to the interstate and found myself in a very bad part of town.
Ever try to load a single action pistol while operating a standard transmission truck? it is not easy.
A few months later there was a major riot in another town and I read what happened to some drivers caught there.
I immediately got rid of the cheap pistol and bought me a 13 shot Browning Hi-Power. I wanted firepower!
Forty five years later I still like LOTS OF FIREPOWER!

***capacity bans on potential life savers is absurd.***
It is like having lead weights on life preservers to make it meet government weight requirements.

Its a win that this is all they could put forward that that Feinstein’s bill failed.
We need to kill this bill. Put the cross hairs on it. Paint a bullseye on its back.
Hell yes, and here in Michigan, I even have to go thru a dealer if I wish to purchase an air rifle from out of state........tack on another $50 minimum for the order.
HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINE BAN for WHAT?
WHY does anyone NEED an ASSAULT RIFLE?
REAL Assault Rifles vs Gun Grabber Myths
This ranks right up there with the Bart Stupak “compromise” on Obamacare. That is, it’s essentially the same thing as before but with just enough window dressing to give Democrats from red states and/or swing districts cover.
Feh!
Well, they have to do something, don't they?
The nation simply cannot allow any more Timothy McVeighs.
Sure, but that's why I moved to Idaho. If it was a Class III, I would have to finish the paperwork with the local sheriff and pay my $200 ATF tax. It was a simple bolt action. Just a model that was in short supply, so I had to go out of state to find someone with product in stock.
"You won't get gun control by disarming law-abiding citizens. There's only one way to get real gun control: Disarm the thugs and the criminals, lock them up, and if you don't actually throw away the key, at least lose it for a long time... It's a nasty truth, but those who seek to inflict harm are not fazed by gun controllers. I happen to know this from personal experience."
~ President Reagan, 1983
We all know a universal background check can only be enforced by registration. The public won’t stand for it and most legislators know it. I’ll be suprised if it can pass the Senate and it sure won’t pass the House.
Just to make sure I am contacting both of our quisling RINO senators to make sure they don’t crack under pressure.
So, let’s kill the ammunition limit.
Obama and Reid and Pelosi all hate America. Period.
They must lose this fight.
Big Time.
