WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says the Boy Scouts of America should open its membership to gays and lesbians when its national executive board discusses the issue this week.
Obama praised the scouts as “a great institution” that promotes young people, giving them lifelong leadership training and opportunities. During a pre-Super Bowl interview on CBS, he said “no one should be barred from that.”
The Boy Scouts announced last week it was considering replacing its longstanding ban on gays with a policy to let troop sponsors make their own decision on the issue.

I’m sick and disgusted by this entire sordid mess. All these morons on the National Council need to do is look at their history and the Oath that they supposedly live by. Brock and any members of the board who vote yes should be instanntly relieved of duty.
I don’t think I’d place my money on not being taken to court over the use of any derivative of the word. You are correct that we should not be hung up on the name and focus on the larger beneficial aspects that bring value.
They already do, several of them. The ‘Scouting for All’ group was started in 1999 and accepts anybody (anything) and is modeled on BSA. The Baden Powell Service Organization is modeled on the original Baden Powell books and also is inclusive.
This has nothing to do with allowing homosexuals into scouting. Scouts get in the dirt, sweat, look forward to a 20 mile hike to a mountain top, shoot those evil guns, and do their best to be courteous and kind. Does any of that sound like your typical homosexual activist.
This is about homosexuals and liberals wanting to destroy anything that is moral, that is their goal.
I think that’s the plan; morph the BSA into a federal program of world servers - the Obama Youth Brigade or something.

I had a strange dream a few months back where I was walking around a city that was more like a shanty town crowded with many people both American and many foreigners. Then in the midst of it I walked into a more luxurious resort setting that was filled with young children and teens all in brown and white uniforms being run by adults in uniform. Wasn’t military but like a strange camp that reminded me of a Nazi Youth camp. I remember I wasn’t supposed to be there and run out and don’t really remember much else.

Frankly, if I were the pastor of your church, under these new conditions, I would REQUIRE the church-based troop to SURRENDER and REPUDIATE the charter.

I am so revolted by the fiend in the WH it practically makes me physically ill. He and the cabal who put him there want nothing less that the utter destruction of everything that is good about our country (and the world). They see black as white, evil as good, lies as truth (not that they really care about truth anyway). They love death, the grossest of immorality, tyranny and repression, and God. They hate human beings. Their masters are lust, greed and envy. What is happening is a tragedy.
Boy Scouts of America need to make a choice. Do they cater to their current member base and hold to their tradition or do they cater to the incredibly vocal 1% of the American population who seek to destroy all edifices of our traditional, Christianity-based society? Homosexuality is specifically mentioned in the Bible as one of the things Christians do not do and do not support. Faggots only want into scouting to cause a stir to gain attention and, more importantly, to have access to your children.
So, which is it, Boy Scouts? The exodus away from scouting in the event they make the wrong choice will kill scouting in the USA. Choose wisely.

Den mothers and Troop mothers. Young boys trust their mothers almost implicitly and the women involved with the troops are seen as surrogates. It's part of the strategy.
So, they’ll let the gay troop leaders decide whether or not to let gay kids in the scouts.
