'White and black don't mix'

Take one stripper with California, golden-girl looks. Lock her up for acting crazy. Ads by Google

One day later, release her into the most dangerous ghetto in Chicago – dressed only in short shorts and a bikini top. At night. Still acting crazy.

Deny her pleas for help because “white and black don’t mix.”

Then try to figure out what happened when a group of black people take her into the nearby projects, where she is raped and thrown from a seven-story building. Or went willingly – and jumped.

Put them all together and it adds up to one of the messiest, murkiest, most expensive cases of racial violence in the country.

Whatever happened, the city of Chicago agreed earlier this month to pay Christina Eilman $22.5 million in damages after her ordeal left her physically and mentally damaged.

The jury never heard about Eilman’s life as a stripper. Or from an expert witness about how the bizarre and sexual and violent behavior she displayed – first at O’Hare Airport, then while in jail – fit a pattern of methamphetamine abuse common among those in the exotic dancer trade.

The judge would not allow it.

All the jury heard about – and most news accounts followed along – is how police abandoned a then 21-year-old troubled coed who studied religion at UCLA in the housing projects of Chicago. Alone. Befuddled.

Even if she was a drugged out, crazy loony. If the police did do this, put her out on the street in a dangerous area where they knew she would be harmed, then they should be made to pay.

My first inclination would be to take all of them responsible and strip them down save for a bed sheet and pointy pillow case and loose them in the same area around midnight.

“they should be made to pay”

Who would be the “they” in this scenario?

Someone at the police station released her from custody, didn’t they? He/she/them knew the area presumably, in which case it was reckless endangerment. If he/she/them didn’t know the area, then it was reckless stupidity. Somebody signed a release form.

Can’t fix stupid coupled with Soviet style quality.

Police. It’s a job with badges, patches and a gun and the long wait until pension out to sit in a bar in Florida.

Unfortunately the taxpayer, however the cops that intentionally dropped her off at the “zoo” should be fired and stripped of their pensions (give the victim their pension?) and the cops boss should also be fired for keeping dangerously sadistic cops on his staff (I wonder if “Chicago’s finest” that dropped her off were “of color” and decided it was time for a little “pay back”? I doubt we’ll ever know.

Thanks to the liberals, we turned our back to insane people, by declaring them "okay" and closing the facilities. Thus we have mentally ill people killing with stolen guns, a high percentage of the homeless, and then, this hapless, woman.

Maybe if true statesmanship, honesty, and integrity return to our government we will apply the usual common sense methods and get a handle on the issue of mental illness.

AFAIK she was not transported to a dangerous neighborhood and dropped off there, she was simply released at the location where she was in custody. IOW, treated like anybody else.

The logic of the lawsuit is that since she was white and female, she should have been transported to a “safer neighborhood” before release. IOW, treated differently and afforded greater consideration than if she had happened to be black and/or male.

Wouldn’t that have been racial discrimination? Isn’t the assumption that she couldn’t be safe in that area a type of “locale profiling,” and/or discrimination against the inhabitants?

Her parents called the police six times to tell them she had a mental issue and she was having that issue at the time. Those police officers should be jailed.

dressed only in short shorts and a bikini top.

But I thought how a woman is dressed has nothing at all to do with whether she becomes a target of rapists.

Let us assume the young woman in question had chosen to voluntarily put herself in exactly the same situation: alone, at night and skimpily dressed in a (euphemism alert) “bad neighborhood.”

If exactly the same thing were to happen to her (rape and attempted murder), anyone who suggested she might bear some partial responsibility for what happened would be accused of mysogyny and “blaming the victim.”

This is not the kind of crime that CNNABCCBS likes. It doesn’t fit their agenda that all Whites are evil racists.

The people of the City. They tolerate a police force of this caliber. They pay.

As we already know, everything the left believes is wrong.

"I wonder if “Chicago’s finest” that dropped her off were “of color” and decided it was time for a little “pay back”?"

You nailed it! From a 2010 article, "New details of woman's fateful fall" chicagotribune.com:

"But instead of arranging transportation to a hospital, police ultimately sent Eilman miles away to the Wentworth District lockup, where multiple witnesses said jail guards dealt with her erratic and bizarre behavior by repeatedly telling her to "shut up." One inmate testified that black officers repeatedly shouted at Eilman, calling her a "white bitch.""
The civil suit's $22.5 million cash award does not punish the black racists responsible. It only punishes taxpayers, i.e., predominately white people.

Many a cop has been fired based on facts of misconduct established during civil proceedings that led to verdicts of large cash liability awards. The cops involved - black and white - must be exposed and punished! If they are not, we can be sure it's yet another case of an Eric Holder "my people" skin privilege

If she was using meth or anything similar then I have no sympathy with her at all. She did not deserve to be awarded all that money. At the same time the authorities and police deserve to lose their jobs and a lot of money.

This is the police force you get in progressive cities. The elected officials are corrupt and often the police force is as well. Think Chicago, think New Orleans. Think politically correct quota hiring. I’ve seen it in my own city.

Having said that, I have a lot of experience dealing with mentally disturbed people. If I ‘pink slip’ somebody and force them to go to the hospital for an evaluation, they can be out in several hours if they know what to say to the doctor. Because some hospitals refuse to restrain people with mental problems, they can jump up, run out of the hospital, steal a car and go kill folks. I’ve seen that happen.

And, if we arrest somebody and take them to the hospital for treatment, guess who pays for it? The taxpayer. Not the individual. Many of our frequent flyers know this. When they get arrested they complain of chest pain, had a head injury, you name it. They demand to go to the hospital. We have to take them. They know that it will cost the city thousands of dollars for scans, x-rays, etc.

So, what does the city do? Instead of keeping them in jail and paying for a big hospital bill, they release them and give them a summons to show up for court.

Naturally they don’t show up for court, a warrant is issued for their arrest and the game starts all over again.

Gotta love it.

Indeed, the problem with gov’t agent misconduct is that they are personally immune from civil liability for their conduct under the color of law.

One of the major reforms I would enact, if I had the magic wand to do so, would be to make each individual personally liable for any malfeasance on the job.

I know a guy that did just that through a lawsuit, and the person in question backed off real quick. Some appraiser in a county gov’t was trying to screw a developer on tax appraisal, and his lawyer not only sued to get the appraisal corrected, but countersued the appraiser himself, personally, and attached his house to the suit.

How about the guards at the facility? The article states they never told the desk sergeant of her looney behavior. Instead, they yelled, ‘get that blood of my walls, white b..ch’.
