Individuals seeking a permit to buy firearms in New Jersey would have to submit results of a psychological evaluation before they could buy a gun, under a bill introduced yesterday in the Legislature by West New York Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez.

Make it part of the motor-voter laws and I’ll consider it..................
- voters
- buying a newspaper
- attending church
- going to school
- getting a welfare check
etc
How about a head check for politicos..?
You left out
Holding public office
I propose a law that all representatives and voters must pass a psycological test and IQ test, with a minium 100 IQ to vote.
They must also be gainfully employed or otherwise not reliant on government aid for the last 365 days.
How about a psychological test for anyone wishing to live in West New York, NJ or perhaps even anywhere in the entire state????
I’m sure all the liberal psychologists will love having this kind of power.
And this law can be implemented after all welfare recipients receive drug tests.
And no one would ever get through all the barriers set up by this bill. This is just another gun prohibition feint.
There wouldn’t be any.
For the love of Pete! What part of "shall not be infringed" doesn't compute here? They are literally attempting to encroach on the rights of Americans to own firearms. Mental illness is not an affirmative offense. If you've not been adjudicated mentally defective, then you can own firearms under the existing law.
Lock up the God-forsaken mental cases and work to either rehabilitate them or keep them out of society. The facts that we're allowing drug-addled children to play violent video games in lieu of parenting and giving convicted violent offenders a free pass back into society are two very big reasons for the problems that we have.
How about we have a psychological test for holding elected office ... the desire or willingness to violate the Constitution is an obvious, disqualifying sign of insanity.
Voting and getting a welfare check for sure, along with a drug test.
Adam Lanza’s mother would have passed
How about psych evals for anyone running for public office?
Not bad for a town of 49,000 people.
it’s NOT just the assemblywoman pushing this it’s ALSO soem republicans and cuomo who is [pushing htis= cuomo is hoping to ‘look presidential’ by ‘leading hte nation’ on gun control- forcing kids to stay in school loner- longer days, longer school year- and forcign peopel to eat and drink what he deems fit for us-
Heaqlth officials are ALREADY required to ask citizens if they’ve ‘ever felt liek harmign htemselves or others’ AND whether ‘there are any weapons in the home’
New Yorkers if you are readign htis- you need to prepare yourself to be asked this and to respond ot hte health official “That’s personal and you have no right askign me that’ where I live, I was asked that and it caught me off guard and I like a dummy answered that there were guns in the home- and now my hosuehold is on record as ownign a gun.
In New York you will soon be required to divulge to health officials that you own or have a gun in home- and they will order a mental heaLTH exam at regular intervals apaprently.
This bill, which is expected to pass, is nothign more than a GUN GRAB- They can’t take your guns away based o nthe constitution, so they are goign to take htem away based on ‘mental health concerns’ to be determined by biased anti-gun health officials
The Webster NY killer had bludgeoned his 92 year old gandmother to death with a hammer, was eventually released and had someone else buy the guns used in the Dec 24th ambush.
The Theatre killer was deemed a real nasty nut by his shrink...who even discussed him with her colleages...but never went further.
The Fort Hood killer was given free rein SINCE HE WAS A MUSLIM and Obama is/was his Muslim Commander In Chief. Remember..."let's not come to any conclusions"....despite the fact that he yelled allah akbar as he mowed them down.
