They wont report this.

Even though it keeps the kids safe, it interferes with their gun confiscation politics.

This is all so wrong. That school should NOT have armed guards. The liberal, leftist Democrats do not want that and I agree with them. Whoever made that decision should be fired.

“What about trying to stop the bad guy from getting the gun in the first place? That’s common sense,” said Sen. Charles Schumer.

Well we have been trying to stop the drug addicts from getting drugs for decades. How is that working out you moron?
New Law. Hey criminals, no more guns for you. You are not allowed to have or use guns. Okay? Please. Pretty please.. We have a Government dominated by total idiots........

Armed guards?? A more accurate description would be "police presence," which has been present at ALL Newtown schools since 12/14/12.

At the temporary school for Sandy Hook students, half of their purpose is to keep the media at bay.

Ya don't need government police to perform these tasks.

Have a couple of parents from each school take turns volunteering, preferably pick military veterans to volunteer, and or provided basic training for others who might need training.

I'd bet the rent the parents would be lining up around the cafeteria to volunteer.

Many in communities all over America would be more than willing to train the parents who might need training.

Parents would be much better, as they would be more vigilant due to having a much greater stake in this endeavor than the overpaid from the local governments.

This is the American way to do things.

The only thing the police should do is volunteer to conduct basic backgrounds on the volunteers. Nothing more.

""What about trying to stop the bad guy from getting the gun in the first place? That’s common sense," said Sen. Charles Schumer.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg called LaPierre's speech “a shameful evasion of the crisis facing our country.”

Rep. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who represents Newtown in Congress, tweeted that it was "the most revolting, tone deaf statement I’ve ever seen."

A number of Republicans also dismissed the NRA's suggestion: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said schools shouldn't be "an armed camp" because that wouldn't set a "positive example" for children. "We should be able to figure out other ways to enhance safety," Christie said.

What a bunch of idiots, starting with Smucky Schumer.

If they’d been there to begin with, those kids wouldn’t be dead.

Yeah, I know....common sense...can’t have that; it doesn’t play well with liberals and their “feelings”...

LaPierre said nothing about using cops and for an obvious reason. Cops cost money. Money that comes from taxes. Homeowners hate paying taxes. Hence his called for “armed volunteers.” No thanks. I’d prefer professionals protecting kids than unemployed Bubba. Perhaps instead of issuing parking tickets or busting kids with weed they could shift priorities?

I bet Christie has an armed guard. The principal said it is the safest school in the country. Hypocracy running rampant in liberalville.

Isn’t an armed camp better than 20 funerals?

And if it is so darned easy, you do it.
