A local New York newspaper is drawing the ire of its readers after publishing an interactive map that shows the names and addresses of thousands of residents who have handgun permits.
The online map was published by The Journal News along with an article under the headline: "The gun owner next door: What you don't know about the weapons in your neighborhood."
The newspaper obtained, and then published, the names and addresses of pistol permit holders in Westchester and Rockland counties through a Freedom of Information Act request.
The article, in explaining the decision to publish the information, pointed to the school massacre in nearby Newtown, Conn., and the concerns of some residents about which of their neighbors might have firearms.

Well, we better not post any information about the man who did this, one Mr:
Dwight R Worley
23006 139 Ave
Springfield Gardens, NY 11413
(718) 527-0832
Dwight Worley’s sister - maybe Dwight should be checking the backgrounds of his sister’s friends...
I really dislike wearing hats but now all I wear is my Black and Yellow NRA hat when I go outside.
FYI Illinois’ idiot kid attorney general was going to publish the names of FOID holders but since most of them are D voters some of the adults left in that party told her so sit down and shut up.
Someone should likewise file a FOIA for private purchases of post-’86 machineguns. It’s actually legal. Publishing who pulled strings to do so would prove very, very, very interesting.

What the paper really did was provide a map of which homes to burglarize—the ones without guns. Nice going. For those of you still living in New York—WHY?
I suggest posting a map to all of the paper’s employees, who are clearly defenseless pawns, waiting to redistribute their wealth.

From the comments section :)
Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws but one of the highest crime rates in the U.S. A town in Georgia, Kennesaw, requires all citizens to have a weapon to defend themselves, others are following suit. Obama did his usual knee-jerk political correctness but disregards his children’s school guards, his and his families armed guards that are with the Obama family 24/7. Disarming a citizenry who are guaranteed their right to own weapons is to take away their freedom to defend themselves, a Right Americans fought for and won in 1775...Obama and his war against the Second Amendment will not find it so easy to oppress a free America.
Here’s a thought ... the Second Amendment is as unambiguous as the First Amendment, yet there is no restraint when it comes to setting all sorts of limits on the former. Well, how about we propose a few “common sense” word control restrictions on the First Amendment? Rein in reckless disregard, stop letting idiots have unrestrained access to the pen, common sense licensing for pundits, background checks, perhaps having fun with magazine “page” limits - none over 15, thank you very much. Will that strike up a howl? You betcha, but it sure would be illuminating.
Notice where the most gun permits are. Then notice where the most violent crimes are committed.
End of lesson one.
Liberals know now that those not listed will be safer to rob.
Next they will publish those that have alarms.
When they control the medical records, they will publish medical conditions to get their policies enacted.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA! One of his sister’s friends is named Kevlar.
Pretty funny..........
