The drive by method of intimidation is for the host to keep firing questions at the guest before the first question is answered. While the guest is answering that one the host fires another one at him. It’s the media’s semi-automatic assault weapon tactic against guests. Perhaps we should start with a ban on that weapon.
Agreed, that’s why we call him DNC Dave....
Its a fun exercise to choose the most perfect period/year in which to have been born. Evaluating modern conveniences, health care vs. wars, famines, depressions, etc., and of course the future.
Given a future that looks not so good, I'd vote for coming of school age immediately after WWII, which would put you ready to check out pretty soon. 1941...the perfect year to be born ? Talk amongst yourselves.
I’m off to church, and with a busy day of family commitments don’t know if I’ll be able to check back in.
Just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and pass along my prayers for God’s Blessings upon each and every one!
They won't need a new agency. Now that Obama has solved terrorism (as in Lybia, Egypt and Syria), the TSA won't have anything to do, so they can just be moved to schools.
Thanks for the link.
Indeed I heard that gun shops and such were overwhelmed after the Newtown shooting.
I will join the NRA my own self, yea I will.
Last year I purchased a gun and it’s one of the wiser things I ever did. I attended an all day class, went to target practice, passed all background check, cost me $600.
I was once married to a cop so I’m not unaccustomed to loaded guns around. But I didn’t like it a bit and never much like guns.
But with great pain I finally got one and they WILL NEVER TAKE IT FROM ME, I WILL DIE OR KILL FIRST. U did not shoot a single child in Newtown and, indeed, never shot anyone in my life. They shall not disarm me, not going to happen.
And I don’t think I’m alone in this thinking.
My dream is that the stupid politicians will keep their hooting and hollering and silly suggestions like assault weapons bans or reducing gun magazines and the public will see them for nattering monkeys they are.
But I dream.
Husband points out, in that manner of speaking across the room, that he hears Schumer on MTP. I told husband yeah, it’s Schumer and he wants to take our guns.
“Isn’t Schumer Jewish?” husband asks.
We know the answer.
“Does he know what Hitler did to the Jews after he took all their guns?”
I will never understand why the Jews tolerate hypocrites like Schumer, why they keep electing him.
These bozos deserve no respect. Its always a mistake to give it to them.
The tv show Happy Days was really a documentary! Yes, those days after WWII and before the boomers changed everything in 1965 (the first year that postwar babies graduated from high school) were magical years! No worries about no go areas in cities; no worries about playing outdoors; parents did not have to supervise ‘playdates’ etc etc...
May be time for armed guards at WH, speaking of our armed guards
I heard the sound of a familiar "thwap" and rushed to see what was about.
Bird do sometimes fly into our sliding glass doors leading to our deck. The vast majority of the times they recover and fly off. On the morning of this picture it was a tiny chickadee who hit the glass door and I noted the small bird lay upon the deck floor, flopping around, appearing to be badly injured.
While I pondered what to do the dog too heard the commotion on the deck as she was out in the yard at the time. I note her running towards the deck and I feared that if that chickadee were to have a chance I'd have to get it away from snooping wet nose of curious dog.
Dog does not dislike birds but she's curious. She'd never hurt a bird intentionally but she does nose around and with her bigness and the bird's smallness, I figured it best to grab the thrashing bird myself and get it away from do.
Which is how the chickadee ended up in my hand. Husband and all cats came by my call to the other side of the glass door. Husband sees I have chickadee in my hand and I look to him for guidance. Cause I didn't know what to do.
"Put him down on the other side of the fence," husband shouted.
Doing this would keep the chickadee away from curious dog but I'd have to walk across the yard to get to fence. Meanwhile the little guy sat quiet and evidently content on my hand.
Husband and I both were entranced at this small bird sitting sweetly, and happily it would seem, in my hand. Oh I know he was likely stunned by hitting the door but he seemed physically fine, not that I'm any expert on avian health.
His mate, meanwhile, was flitting nervously about all the trees, clicking out commands that the disoriented fellow should get off of human hand and get up here in tree where birds belong.
I did walk across the yard, as chickadee remained calm in my hand. At the fence I lightly moved arm up and down and chickadee did fly off at this movement. He seemed fine, he flew right to a tree, safe from dog and with happy mate following me across the yard and now happy that the little guy was back.
I held that chickadee in my hand for about ten full minutes. I did manage to get a picture, goodness it wasn't easy. But I dug out my cell with my free hand and got it ready to snap, all the while the chickadee sitting in my hand, not at all scared.
Wow.
I must thank my God giving me such an opportunity to hold one of His precious bird fellows, just the thought of it gives me yet another smile.
Wow. Your post about life goes on is very hard hearted...IMO.
Life will not go on for the 27 people killed.
Life will not go on as usual for the parents, spouses, family and friends of the 27 people who were murdered.
Life will not go on as usual for Newtown residents.
In the rush to do something...life will probably change for schools all over the United States....just like life changed for all of us after 9-11. Most likely the ‘something’ will be some knee jerk BS that doesn’t make anyone safer. And out here in blue WA state...whatever the ‘something’ is...I guarantee, it will be ineffective in improving safety in our schools.
Yes, people are murdered everyday...children included...and we don’t read about it or see it plastered on our tvs. The fact that the press doesn’t make a big deal about the violence that occurs everyday...does not, in my mind, alter my perceptions of the importance of life.
I hope that I don’t become so jaded w/ religious or political leaders that I get to the point of saying “life goes on” when referring to the brutal murder of anyone.
What a wonderful Christmas gift. Merry Christmas everyone and I do have a post I will give next week. It is going to be a tough fight but we can begin to turn this, it is going to take a lot of work and courage.
Merry Christmas
I never thought of Happy Days in those terms but you’re spot on. That’s the time frame.
If the DEMe’s were going to go with Hillary, they would have let her win in 2008 and moved Obama to 2016. He would still have been youthful enough after 8 years.
Since they moved him to the head of the pack, that indicates they have no intention of going with Hillary, especially in 2016.
I think Hillary knows that. That is why she is stepping down as SoS. She knows her political career is coming to an end.
And refuse questions about rape, incest and abortion, or limit your answer to “You know, (insert questioner’s name here), I’ve always been against rape. Rapists should get the death penalty or at least life in prison. My party has always been strongly anti-crime. We won’t appoint judges who let rapists out of prison after only a few years like the other party.”
I was born in 1940, that was a pretty good year to be born too, but I am not ready to check out.
We need to address our entitlement programs, the main drivers of our debt. With 10,000 people retiring a day for the next 20 years doubling the population over 65 by 2030. One in 5 will be 65 or older by that time. And there will be only two workers for every retiree. We are an aging society. And to make matters worse, we have added another huge entitlement program--Obamacare.
Yes, walking guns, its that evolution, you know.
Guns get themselves out of their cases and proceed to settle scores for some unknown human who got disrespected
Glad you’re not ready to check out. My point is a person much younger than us may have to endure the undoing of a great country. We may see some of it too, depending....
