Amid talk of reinstating the assault weapons ban that expired eight years ago, police departments nationwide are thinking of ways to confiscate such weapons.
As WCBS 880s Marla Diamond reported, among the departments considering taking action is the NYPD. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said if Congress were to reinstate the ban, police are wondering whether it will be their responsibility to confiscate them.

If you happen to know someone in the USAF, an A-10 Warthog will do the trick!
Although the Constitution seems irrelevant to these folks, I refer them to Article 1, Section 9, Clause 3.
I believe confiscating guns that were legally purchased would violate the prohibition of ex post facto, as well as the 2nd amendment.
Probably not since the ban will likely mirror the prior one which simply banned their sales...........
All those high capacity magazines my buddy bought for investment purposes might just become valuable again.........
Tell that to the GM bondholders.
When they come for your guns give them something. Anything. Plan ahead and have a little ‘giveaway’ collection. Smile, tell them you understand and wish them good health. Take names and remember faces. :-)
DO THEY THINK THEYRE JUST GOING TO GO DOOR-TO-DOOR AND TAKE THEM??
They did it after Katrina. There’s a video of a huge cop knocking down an old lady and taking her revolver.
Feinswine said there will be no grandfathering this time. She said it before the Newtown incident.
The same Congress that's in open rebellion with Boehner over a tax increase on millionaires, many of whom don't even support Republicans? That one? It's going to roll over and ban all black, scary, ugly rifles?
I wouldn't put it past Obama trying something with an executive order. But then there's that Constitution thing.
They aren't confused. They are hopeful. Many socialist pundits are calling for confiscation.
We are entering into "use it or lose it" territory folks.
I went for an AR15 but the only one left (out of hundreds they had in stock) was a fancy $4,000 AR10.
My main goal today was to get something that would be banned if they renew the ban on high capacity magazines.
It was difficult to believe how many people were buying guns.
What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

Are they defining all semi autos as “assault weapons” or just the ones that look “mean” to liberals?
Fully auto guns are almost impossible for ordinary citizens to come by, I guess the liberals really want to ban all guns and getting rid of the “mean” looking ones, the ones that make them pee their panties to look at, is just a start.I own just one gun, it is not semi auto, it’s a revolver that holds 7 bullets, they’ll want to confiscate that too I reckon. Who could need 7 whole bullets after all?
The first gun I ever owned, when I was 12 years old was a single shot bolt action .22, what a pain in the butt to have to reload after every single plink.
Leonidas and his men held the pass for three days until a spy betrayed them. Leonidas’ 300 Spartans and about a 1,000 other Greeks held Xerxes at bay until the rest of the Greek Army could withdraw. Of the hundreds of thousands of Persians committed, 20,000 of Xerxes’ best died in this battle. Leonidas died with his men. How many of you cops want to follow the lead of Xerxes-Bloomberg-Cuomo-Obama? Do they pay you enough to turn your guns on your fellow American friends, neighbors, and relatives? Molon Labe — if you dare.
“DO THEY THINK THEYRE JUST GOING TO GO DOOR-TO-DOOR AND TAKE THEM??”
Thats why they have the military running exercises to search for “weapons dealers”.
I'm putting that on my list of great ideas.
“I’m wonderin how they’ll deal with all the anonymous tips of assault weapons and gunfire in liberal’s and minorities homes?”
Genius idea!
No need to spend $1,000 either.
Interesting, in the Chinese sense of the word,
Obviously, liberal politicians, gubmint woikas, and leftist drones, all think it'll be just that easy. Man, are they in for a surprise.
