Full Title Was: Police arrest man with 47 guns after threatening to 'kill as many people as possible' at ANOTHER elementary school at the SAME TIME as Connecticut massacre

An Indiana man with 47 guns and stocks of ammunition was arrested after threatening to go into a local elementary school and 'kill as many people as he could before police could stop him'.

Von Meyer, 60, was arrested on Friday after his wife called Cedar Lake police after he threatened to set her on fire and continue his violent spree by attacking a nearby elementary school.

The loaded threat came the same day that a young man killed 20 children and seven others in Newtown, Connecticut.

When police arrived at Meyer's home, they found 47 guns and ammunition, the sum of which cost more than $100,000.

'Through investigation, police learned that Meyer reportedly had a large number of weapons hidden throughout the two story historical home,' the report states.

The makes and models of the guns have not been released, but many of them were said to be historical collectors items.

Meyer allegedly said that he was going to light his wife on fire once she fell asleep. His plan didn't end there, however, as he set his sights on the Jane Ball Elementary School which is less than 1,000 feet away from his home.

The police report states that the school is easily accessed from Meyer's home by a series of trails and paths that cut through a wooded area.

Officials at Jane Ball School were notified, and they immediately took unspecified security measures.

The same happened at all local schools on Friday because of the threat, which was undoubtedly heightened as news rolled in of the shooting in Connecticut.

Liberalism’s culture of death is fully blooming in the US. This is life in a society that has rejected God and human life. That’s not a slogan. It’s real. You don’t know what you have ‘til it’s gone sometimes.

I wonder if this end-of-the-world stuff next week has caused people who were on the ragged edge, to finally go over.

Great. I will be at Tropicana Field in St Pete, FL at a game next Friday. Did not think I would witness the Apocalypse there

Nailed it. I can’t think of one school shooter that was not jacked up on these. Ssri’s are dangerous stuff. It doesn’t make people do this, the just make this seem like a good idea.

This factor needs to become part of the narrative.

24/7/365 media coverage is to blame, IMHO. It’s giving all those nuts a way to go out in a “blaze of glory”.

Too sadly true. Wouldn't it be nice if, for the first 48 hours after something like this happened, they never even gave the name of the perp. I never even knew the CT killer's name until I read it here, on FB yesterday. I frankly didn't WANT to know anything about him, and there are too many mentally ill, or unhinged folks out there ready to be copycats.

The networks are so hot to trot about being able to brag that they were 'first with the story', they put a lot of misinformation out there that causes confusion and mistrust, when it turns out they were wrong. It takes them almost 48 hours to get the story straight, anyway, so spending that time finding out the truth would be better than giving the killer all that press.

I read somewhere today - somewhere on the web - that the father of the Colorado shooter AND the father of the Connecticut shooter were both scheduled to testify before congress about some sort of banking scandal. If that’s true, and if all the various congresscritters who each have their pet gun-control law ready to introduce, it does lend a different shade of light on the “coincidence” story. I can’t independently verify the bit about the fathers but it does seem like a bit of a stretch for all those proposed bills to magically appear at the same time.

My wife thinks we’re being overrun by a whole host of lesser Manchurian Candidates. I’m not sure she isn’t onto something.

I agree that their is some strange stuff going on with this incident, but IMHO it’s the psych drugs combined with recreational drugs and gaming that is shoving the limits of human behavioral restraints over the cliff.
Who could shoot these kids without remorse, it’s strange that no one has said he had me in the crosshairs and didn’t shoot or something similar. This guy had to hopped up on something or complete mental snap.

No matter how horrific a tragedy we have in school shootings there is someone somewhere who will watch the coverage and think:

“Cool.”

And that is the problem. You cannot protect yourself against crazy with programs.

I’ve been wondering the same thing.

On another note..., there is a big push by the U. N. right now, to limit or vanquish gun ownership.

So right now, a person conveniently attacks an elementary school.

A number of times before this, radical savage attacks have taken place right before legislation comes before our elected leaders.

Sorry, I can’t term this an accident any longer. Something is up here. This many coincidences seems very unlikely.

You're right, and your comment adds another insight. This aspect has been suggested several times already. But the MSM have not stressed this because it takes readers' attention off the real cause -- the guns do the killing -- /heavy, dripping sarcasm
