State police are responding to a report of a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dickinson Drive, school officials said.
Police are reporting a number of injured parties. The nature of their injuries is not clear.

we have a problem in our culture, lack of respect and all and we have many parents who do not raise their own children , regardless of this shooting.

I hear many who never bother with their kids today, never sit down at dinner, never talk about what is right and wrong.
I have over-broadened the list to include bombers, but the main thrust should be on “school shootings.” Can we find an example of a non-young white male school shooting?
No surprise the parents were divorced.
Which of course is NOT to say that every child who grew up in a broken home will become a mass murderer.
But if you look into the backgrounds of mass murderers, chances are their parents were divorced early on, or never married.

Why have most of these tragedies only occurred recently? ,, Repeating firearms have existed for over 150 years – the Colt revolver for example. ,, Why didn’t those kinds of massacres occur 150… 120.. 100 years ago?

There were mass killings, many of them. Wild towns and cities on the frontier with angry wars beteen peoples. Mass killings of indians and settlers, mass killings of criminals on rampage, masss killings of people being robbed, whole train full or wagon train ful.

Brings to mind the idiot reporter who got decked at the end of the first "Die Hard".
That's because, in 1955, there were over two million deranged nutcases locked up for life in state mental hospitals, where they belonged.
Now, when there are a LOT more crazy people, the state hospital population is around ten thousand.
Until we start practicing nut control, gun control is fruitless.
I predict, right here, that the shooter (whoever he turns out to be) was 1) known to be crazy, 2) known to put people in fear, 3) known to the authorities, and 4) that no one did anything.

My oldest is 15 and I meet his pals eevry day and they prefer to come over here where I treat them with respect and they treat me with respect.
I treat them as rugged boys, not the mamby pamby crap we see today and they have told me how they wished they had a father or a father who was like this.
My youngest and in between tell me how their mothers raise their kids, how they have to give ice and a band aid all the time and then we wonder why boys today grow up, become victims, become pansy men, think the world owes them and when they don;t get their own way they throw a baby fit
