I realize that this is biology and not theology, and yet the truth about Jesus is both biology and theology. And what vistas this opens up on the relationship between Jesus and Mary!
We were discussing this last night at our RCIA lesson on Mary (I'm a member of the RCIA teaching team) --- we were talking about Mary's strong empathy with Jesus, to the extent that even when He was an infant, Simeon said that a sword would pierce Mary's heart and soul (like the sword that pierced Jesus) --- it was all there, on the level of empathy, from the beginning.
("And Mary kept these things, pondering them in her heart.")
I'm not too much into theo-bio-speculation. But it's something to think of, if a child's cells are microchimerizing the mother, and the Child is the Son of God.

Yup. I’ve known this for a long time. I have two natural born sons. They don’t have my cells except in the form of genetic information but I’ve known for a long time of this connection with them.
