House Republican leaders used a secret criteria list to decide which conservatives to purge from powerful House committees, Breitbart News has learned. As this time, it appears they will keep the criteria list hidden from the public, too. Spokespeople for members of House GOP leadership have refused to discuss details about the list on the record with press.
Because GOP Leadership won't discuss the list, its unclear what specific criteria the list contained and how much of a role it played in the conservative purge. Its also unclear which member of House Republican leadership initiated this process.
In remarks to the Heritage Foundations Bloggers Briefing on Tuesday, Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp confirmed the existence of such a list.
Weve heard from multiple sources that someone walked in with a list of votes and said if you didnt reach a particular scorecard of what was considered the right vote which by the way, in most cases, was not the conservative position then [they said] were going to have to remove you from the committee, Huelskamp said.
All that took place behind closed doors, which is again a problem with Washington, D.C. whether its the budget negotiations, whether its everything else, its usually done behind closed doors," he explained. "I think, as conservatives, this is where we can win: Weve got to be willing and able to talk about things in public instead of being afraid of actual public scrutiny.
Huelskamp later told Breitbart News he thinks House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Whip Kevin McCarthy owe it to the American people to be transparent about this decision making process and that they should publicly release the list.
In the name of transparency and openness, they most certainly should release the criteria, Huelskamp said in...

Already explained this. Some cuts are OK. The cuts the libertarians want are ridiculous.
I agaree that a national security goal is essential.
Almost every Republican and libertarian claims to be conservative. Words are cheap. Even Ron Paul's bosom buddy, Alex Jones, claims to be a conservative, but here's what he thinks of real conservatives:

One of those ousted from a financial committee is from here in NC: "Little Walter" Jones. He, for one, certainly is no conservative!
Two others are David Schweikert and Justin Amash. Both are apparently Rontards. Amash, a/k/a "Mr. Facebook," is sometimes touted as the next Ron Paul.
Amash, in particular, has a reputation as a loose cannon. E.g., though pro-life, he was one of only seven Republicans who voted against banning sex-selection abortions. (Ron Paul also voted against banning sex-selection abortions.) Amash even very publicly lambasted the Republican leadership over the issue -- not exactly the best way to get preference the next time committee assignments come around.
My guess: it's probably the guys who wanted the federal gov't to default on the debt, rather than raise the debt ceiling, who're being shunted aside from the financial committees. If so, I wouldn't call that "conservative," I'd call it irresponsible.
America's economic problems are serious business. Obviously the House Republican leadership wants serious people working on them... to which I say, "Amen!"
Didn't your read the report from the Heritage Foundation which says the GOP headed by our speaker put no real solutions in getting the country's more urgent issues addressed. Whether those people are not to your tasting, the voters voted them in to get the government under control and to stop spending. The GOP just cut them off at the knees because they were Paul like (not buying it)
hell we need walter williams as speaker of the house. you don’ t have to be elected rep to be speaker.
conservatives no longer have any representation
It amazes me why people keep voting for Republicans and complain about it instead of forming a party that represents their beliefs.
You can expect total compliance to any and all ideas placed before them by the communists.
This election proved that the end of America as we knew it has come to an end. The only thing we have left is to form a third party as our last gasp of freedom. We have no other recourse because only the naive think the Republican party can be “fixed.” Those with common sense know it can’t.
Justin Amash?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You refuse to let others do your thinking for you.
We are having a terrible time with crazy Paulbots here in Iowa--they have nearly destroyed RPI so it is easy for me to sympathize with leadership who removed them.
I know exactly what I'm talking about regarding the crazy Paulbots here in Iowa.
Start reading theiowarepublican.com. This has been going on for about 10 months now and they've nearly destroyed RPI. Until you take the time to investigate, don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about because I do.
Let me get my tin foil hat. /s
I will not condemn Boehner for this as if these folks are truly trying to cut the military while protecting Planned Parenthood funding, I say, good for Boehner.
For almost a 12 years now, I have had that feeling very strongly and always pushed it away. Now I am forced to accept that reality. I was just making some notes in my journal last night that I'm somewhat glad to be heading into my late 50's because Civil War and Revolution are really games for the young. I'll grab my Bible and sit back to watch the show. It won't be very long now. I'm comfortable, cooking popcorn and some hot chocolate. I don't have the strength to pull night ambushes and raids.
Probably George Soros. I think he’s been calling the shots ever since he and his communist-Islamist alliance orchestrated the run on the bank in Sept of 2008.
Did Huelskamp really think that the people who dictated that a known-ineligible candidate be on the ballot in Kansas...and who oversaw 100+% voting in the critical areas to get Obama elected... and who threatened the media into silence over the eligibility issue because they have a BIG CARD that makes even Roger Ailes scared (who can certainly afford to have a bodyguard...).... would let anybody stand in their way in Congress?
When you join forces with Sauron, expect to get used up and thrown away. The only way to defeat the lawless Sauron is by OPPOSING HIM. The dems may be Sauron, but the reps are Saruman, and right now the only way the country will be saved is if some little Frodo in Congress is willing to understand that the Shire will be no more if they don’t stand up right now. On the eligibility issue, which is the very crux of the lawlessness. Whatever Soros is using for his trump card to get the R’s to join forces with him rather than fight on something so critical, is what is holding this country hostage, and until we address that directly, this country can only slide into a coma and death.
Huelskamp, you tried joining forces with Saruman when you assured the world that Obama would be on the Kansas ballot no matter what. Look where it got you. Learn from your mistake, grow some balls, and let’s get on with saving this country. We need a Senator or Representative to file a lawsuit challenging Obama’s Constitutional ability to “act as President” on the basis of him being unable to qualify by Jan 20th as required by the 20th Amendment - given that he has no legally-determined birth facts, since he has no legally-valid HI birth certificate (as confirmed by HI state registrar Alvin Onaka).
!
Amash - just became my rep this election cycle. Walberg was redistricted.
