Well at least the police and criminals can finally agree on something ... if a citizen is faced by a robber, just give up the loot.
That way the crook gets the goods, and the police department can enjoy lots of job security by opening yet another case for the detective bureau.

Again they were after material items that could be replaced and again our biggest fear is that somebody would have gotten hurt, injured and possibly even died." That's easy to say when they're not your "material items."
More evidence that cops are just gang-bangers with badges.

This just reduces the police to the level of Security Officers where there is only a “Observe and Report” action. The police should realize that they no longer can “protect and Serve”. You as a citizen are responsible for yourself until the arrival of the authorities.

A genuine cop would never say that. Corrupt administrations tell the cops what to say, and being trained to obey, they comply.
In reality, the politicians want the crooks to just waltz in and take whatever they want - kind of “redistribution of wealth.”

Why should we expect the police to remain unstained by the corruption overtaking government in general?

” “We don’t recommend (drawing a gun or firing). We would have preferred that they just go ahead and comply with the request or demands of the robbers.”
Fine. The next time you cops come up against an armed criminal, why don’t you practice what you preach.

You have to understand that San Jose's police chief is a candy-a$$ liberal. Notes from his bio:
"In 1999, Chief Moore was selected as a White House Fellow and served one year as Counsel to U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno. In 2004, Moore was awarded a Fulbright Police Research Fellowship to study police accountability at the London School of Economics and New Scotland Yard. He is a member of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). "Chief Moore holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley."

Well...after all the government has decided the real business its in is redistribution of wealth....the robbers are merely the active partners.

Gag me. The only downside to shooting the scum is the cleanup and you are left with the liquid waste removal.

Because you can trust a robber to just take material things, right? I wonder if they think victims should submit to rapists as well. Heck, its just sex.

I realise I’m probably going to be in a minority of one here, but did anyone consider what the fact that if your aim is flawed, blasting out bullets into a busy street through the store window might possibly end in tears?
To: DogByte6RER
This is a very bad message, and one that’s on track with the statism found in the UK.
Lawful citizens deserve the unimpeded right to defend themselves in any reasonable manner.

I think it’s for liability reasons the cops caution citizens against armed resistance. If the cops advocated firing upon criminals, it would be the basis for a large lawsuit.
