I realise I’m probably going to be in a minority of one here, but did anyone consider what the fact that if your aim is flawed, blasting out bullets into a busy street through the store window might possibly end in tears?
>> blasting out bullets into a busy street
So instead of issuing guidelines on weapons management, the citizens should be told to submit?
Don’t be a statist.
That's because this is a Conservative site.
Is the reason you think you're a minority here because you are not a Conservative?
Self defense is a God Given right, and btw, where did it say she was shooting out the storefront into the street?
And what if you comply with their demands, and then they kill you anyway?
Translation from the top cop: “STOP IT!! You’re making us look bad!!!!”
If that’s what you’re worried about as a store owner with a gun...
1. Get more range time. Lots more. Consistent shooting and firearm handling teaches confidence. You are less likely to screw up with your firearm if you are comfortable with it.
OR
2. Don’t have a gun and let the thug-of-the-month use your store as his personal ATM.
Either way, the cops really don’t care. They get the same paycheck whether you hit the bad guy or the bad guy hits you.
I have two words for you then that should calm your fears....hollow points.
The person is a store owner not an NYPD Cop.
Clearly a question posed by someone who knows nothing about carrying a gun.
In other words it is a very stupid question.
Very, VERY stupid.
This is what I would load if in an urban retail location.
Or the bullet could ricochets off the metal window frame and maybe down to the street and maybe then off the bumper of a 1936 Cord convertible and then maybe, its energy almost spent, hit little Myron Goldsmuckerstein in his left pinky causing a rash that discourages him from violin and he goes on to a life of petty crime and letters to the editor writing thus breaking his mothers heart.
Or not.
As one of the gun nuts around here, teach the children well and start young. Then only the bad guys catch any bullets. They tell me I started at age 3. I really don’t remember the details myself.
My answer to you is to suggest, .357 rounds with OO buck, because they work at close range when you want to send your very best!
Better coverage and less down range.
