Blacks, Latinos Concerned That a 'Non-Person of Color' Might Win NYC Council Seat

In a story the New York Times appears not to have touched, Hunter Walker at Observer.com's Politicker ("about" page is here) reported on Tuesday that Thomas Lopez-Pierre, a black Harlem activist, "circulated an email" Monday night "in an attempt to plan a 'private meeting' to 'discuss the potential damage to the political empowerment of the Black and Hispanic community if Mark Levine, a White/Jewish candidate was elected to the 7th Council District in 2013.'" So we see that black Chicagoland establishment officials trying to ensure that the successor to the recently resigned Jesse Jackson Jr. in Illinois' 2nd Congressional District are not alone in seeing a political office as somehow "belonging" to them.

I’d like to think so, but damn if our species doesn’t have a poor track record when it comes to learning from history. It sometimes seems like feudalism and tyranny are just ‘oldies but goodies’ to the majority.

To my aging ears, that sounds a lot like Lester Maddox. I suppose there is some humor here somewhere.

Minorities have been so brainwashed by Liberals into believing that they are incapable of competing o a level playing field, they panic when they think they are no longer in a rigged game thats in their favor.
Sad.

Is that “non-Person of Color” or “Person of non-Color”?

No need for redundancy. If you're white, you're already a non-person in today's U. S. A.

white is a color.
White is a combination of all colors. Black is actually absence of color.
To: Secret Agent Man
Scientifically, black is NOT a color.
To: chessplayer
Speaking of luminance that's true, as with an LCD or color monitor. White is full spectrum, the totality of color. Black is it's absence.
Speaking of reflectance it's the opposite. Black is the totality of color and white is the absence of it, as with printed matter, really anything in nature that is not a light source in it's own right.

“At any rate, Im beginning to understand just how those folks must have felt.”
Beginning to understand? Affirmative action has reduced access to higher education, jobs, and promotions for white guys for decades. The white women aren’t liking the consequences of that (men unable to raise a family don’t marry/raise a family), but they’ll vote Dem nonetheless (then b!tch that they’re the only ones in their office/supermarket/apartment building that speak English).
The demographic slide has hastened due to these policies; the “2050” date for the tipping point was just thrown out there to prevent panic (or a real reaction from the scattered descendants of those who built this country). This past election showed just how bad it is...

(Affirmative action is economic war against white males (and therefore white families).)
