It's enough to make an MSMer nostalgic for the good old days of the Soviet Union, when the masses didn't stampede into stores because there was little of interest to buy and little money to buy it with, and the good stuff was reserved for the ruling elites at special shops.
Here's how ABC's Dan Harris opened today's Good Morning America: "This morning, Black and Blue Friday. America's annual orgy of capitalism gets dicey." Capitalism? Really? Is that the problem?

I’ve been hearing these stories about how awful holiday season shopping is since I was a kid 50 years ago. Nothing’s changed. The same media types who hated the cruder aspects of a free-market economy (crazy consumers) are still at it. Much better in their eyes to have a soviet-style economy where people could share their misery in their rabbit hutches while reading Marx and Lenin.
This was the first thought that went through my mind. ABC is a for-profit enterprise. Dan Harris is, I feel fairly certain, PAID for his work...
And those who criticize it like this idiot Dan Harris, 1000% guaranteed he lives on the upper West side of Manhattan in a multi-million dollar condo with a pool, gym, doormen,a limo that takes him to work and every other thing that would portray one as a “capitalist pig”. There is no greater example of hypocrisy on this earth when it comes to liberals. And they are absolutely blatant about it.

I call it a snapshot of the breakdown of our society.
Then we can all agree to not patronize any advertiser on ABC, tell them so, and why.

We are a nation where one can pursue individual happiness unfettered by government. If that means many find this as scurrying about in pursuit of a black friday sale, so-be-it.

I don’t have a problem boycotting ABC’s capitalistic sponsors peddling their materialistic wares to those black Friday shoppers.
The overall capitalistic side of things: Manufacturers identification and production of a consumer want is fine and healthy.
The thing here is ABC doing its usual, denigrating capitalism when more at issue here is the orgy of consumerism.
