(Reuters) - Former U.S. first lady Barbara Bush said on Thursday that she's ready to move beyond this year's campaign season, in comments that came at an Austin conference the week after President Barack Obama's re-election.
"I'm tired now of the elections," Bush, who had endorsed Republican Mitt Romney, said at a forum on America's first ladies. "People spoke. Move on, get on with it. I want to do other things and not to be ugly."

If you think Bush was a conservative, I have a bridge in Iraq for you. I assume that is a self portrait of you that you posted. Idiot.
In the real world we would have two Parties with the appropriate Titles, the Communist Party and the Capitalist Party.
n fact, I think I will refer to any and all Democrats as Communists from now on. That way THEY will be on the defensive. My new line will be ‘prove me wrong”.
The Bush mafia are a disaster for the GOP.
Every one of them is a disaster for the conservative base of the GOP
Bush mobsters exist to supress the conservative base
Has Mrs.Bush ever heard of demoncrat massive vote fraud? She is no doubt too comfortable to bother with such thoughts. No ObamaDeathCare for her, no consequences for the ultra rich elites.
This election was stolen. They ramped up the old fashioned fraud and added tampering with voting machines.
Just as I am sure OThugga had his goons kill Breitbart and OThugga is a usurper due to his foreign father(and other matters), I am sure this election was stolen.
Let’s remember how uninterested OThugga was at the debates.
He was so nonchalant because he knew the fix was in a long time ago.
The 2010 elections scared the demonrats so much, they made sure the people will never again have only normal dem fraud to combat at the polls.
Has she adopted Obamao yet? He needs brothers!
Dittos.
the Bush Mafia exiists to do the bidding of the left
My flag is not being displayed for the next 4 years, or until The Usurper is removed from office and put in prison, which ever comes first. I am not holding my breath on option 2.
I wish I had her ‘trademark pearls’.
I’d pawn them for vet bills.
WTSHTF, she gets to go to live in splendor at Mt Weather for the duration while we all have to stay topside and play Zombieland.
I don’t feel like “moving on”.
Go pound sand you dumb bitch!
Any idea if she’s been getting a lot of microphones shoved in her face with questions about it? Maybe she’s just tire of of it and at her age I can understand her being “short” with some folks.
Mrs. Bush.....THEY have DESTROYED one of your sons and almost your husband!!!! WAKE UP!!
To me. Moving on, ‘getting over it’ is surrender of ideals. Moreover, it is the complete surrender of a free future for your children and grandchildren. It is not our right to surrender their futures soley because we are tired of it and don’t want things to get ‘ugly.’
I agree. My personal conspiracy theory has always been that the Bush family are moles sent by the Dems to destroy the Republican Party from within. And now, another Bush is running for office in TX. I thought we fought a war so we wouldn’t have a royal family.
The entire family needs to be shunned by the conservative base.
I always thought Bush Jr loved this country and I still do beleive that, however, the entire Bush family has been terrible for this country. They couldn’t give a rats ass about this country. It is about their money and power and their “service” has never been about We the People. When someone says Barbara Bush whored her son they are right. He never wanted to be President, they pushed him into politics. I actually feel sorry for him. It really wasn’t the life he wanted.
Notice how the bush clan always Around to trash the base of the GOP?
The people spoke regarding Barbara Bush’s clan. She should heed her own counsel and just move on.
She seems quite happy in Maine. Let’s hope she stays there.

She's 87 years old. Where's she going to go?
All this kicking the old lady when she just said she's tired of the election is uncalled for.
I wasn't really a fan of either of the Bushes, though I voted for them, but I'm not going to scapegoat them (or their women) for things that had a lot of support from other people (including many of the people attacking Barbara Bush today).
