Even by the standards of the friday afternoon news dump tradition, yesterday's news that Gen. David Petraeus had resigned from the CIA was a stunner. The most heralded military officer of his generation fell from grace after it was revealed he'd had an affair with his biographer. The affair was discovered earlier this year soon after the FBI began monitoring his email. This raises a very serious question. Who authorized the FBI to monitor the e-mail of the Director of the CIA?

Most of this is old news-—Gen Davy and the Babe met clear back in 2006 when he was speaking at Hahvahd. They were both West Point grads. The extra-curricular fraternization took half a decade. That’s hardly anything Obamuzzies guys could have started but might very well have helped finish. And remember there is a lot of footage on how tight these two were getting while she was “inbed” in Afghanyland.
Were there any consequences when it was revealed that Slick’s CIA Director, Deutch, took his laptop home and it was used there by his teenage son?
This is unfortunate, I worked for Petraeus in Baghdad during 07/08. He was a straight shooter who inspired those around him. This situation will likely haunt him the rest of his days.
Was Petraeus using a government computer or his personal computer? Our government computers were under surveillance at all times for anything not work-related, and that was a few years ago. I’m sure it’s more sophisticated today.
Hillary of course it is her MO... she needs to testify and take the 5th with perp walk added
Not just them.
Right now, some kid is posting something politically incorrect. 20 years from now, he'll be running for congress from the "wrong" party.
The geek crossword puzzleteers from No Such Agency, with a few clicks, will be able to pull up every text, tweet, E-mail and blog post he's ever made and give it to the "right" party, deep-sixing him at the optimal moment.
Welcome to the brave new world, folks.
The WSJ and other articles say the email exchanges between Petraeus and Broadwell was through his private Gmail account. But still stupid as I presume the government monitors the private email accounts and home computers of people with high security clearances, in fact I have reason to believe that is true.
He was one of the guys Slick pardoned on his way out the door 20 January 2001. My recollection was, there was an investigation, but it wasn't going anywhere as long as Clinton was President and Janet Reno was AG. So, the pardon was just to make sure it wouldn't take on new life in the new administration.
Do you think the journalists in this country just abjectly abandoned their profession for ideology OR do you think raw FBI data files on the heads of these news organizations has been used against them to never, never criticize obama in the news media? If they would blackmail the CIA director, what is to blackmail the head of ABC, CNN, CBS, NBC, Time, New York Times, Washington Post, etc.
who else?
Yup.
The Government/Media/Finance behemoth is locked together in an unholy mess where anyone who strays from what “They” want can be ruined in a minute via this type of crap.
I feel sorry for normal people who think 3 months of food and a few cans of ammo will get them through this. If it ever collapses, it will be Hell on earth.
Your thinking is like mine. Even if the regime could be
replaced by conservatives tomorrow,I have a feeling that
many, many wheels have been set in motion to dismantle
America. That was their number one goal. Imagine all those
czars working all day, every day. Not vetted. Wonder what they have access to? Who knows.
I think the best move for conservatives at this time (not
politicians,we the people) is to close ranks. Migrate to the
reddest county that you can, stop all financial support of
big media, spend your money in red areas, red businesses etc.
Live simply and enjoy life.Constant anger, frustration and fighting all the time is too debilitating. JMHO.
I think I’m heading to the Florida Panhandle. Any advice from my Florida freepers??
I have read up on all of those people, and believe me, I realize that you are not trying to be funny.
It is not a comedy. It is a horror story.
“...who authorized FBI monitoring...”
Now, who do you think?
Shortly before this, when our esteemed chump in chief tried to blame his Benghazi failure on the CIA...
Can ya say “retaliation”?
“Mata Whorie”
Bahaha! If this whole thing didn’t stink to high heavens that would really be funny!
I say hillary shes good for something like this
Consider the old Carnivore system, along with Echelon. All electronic communications throughout the world are monitored, by the US in conjunction with other governments in a manner to technically avoid each individual countries legal requirements. Prior administrations may have tried to keep things as legal as possible - this one has no compunction to take advantage of opportunities. Other articles suggest the FBI was aware for months and were unhappy with the inaction by Obama and his top staff. I honestly think they just saw this as an opportunity - they had a card they could play when needed to keep DP in line. Sounds like they played it Tuesday, they are trying to keep him from testifying. He’s calling their bluff - resigned and openly admitted his failings. Let us pray he testifies truthfully and exposes the corruption. Hopefully the investigation will also find who knew what, when, about the affair - and if it can be shown Obama sat on it for political gain, at least some of the sheeple may wake up and support action.
BTW, Ron Kessler said he knew about it in early October. (That’s a “patriot” for you...)
Come on down! But we need good conservative voters down state. Plenty of R’s around here in NW Fla.
You may have touched upon something.
Who monitors the head of the CIA?
Congressional Oversight Committee perhaps or the White House, but the White House security is less rigorous than the CIA.
There is a different gamesmanship ongoing here.
There isn’t a secure chain of command with commensurate OPSEC. Instead it’s an intel maneuver warfare. Observe how Obama bounces all over the playing field. It’s obvious that he is a liar, but he continually isn’t held accountable.
If enemies of the US are concerned about those who might oppose them, and they occupy the Administration from within, how would they defend their position?
They would mold the center of gravity of reporting into conventional mechanisms in a chain of command, then monitor the reporting system. They placed Petraeus in the post after they had tooled up to monitor him. They let any intel which might implicate the traitors flow naturally to the security of the senior intel position, while they monitored the info flow.
By removing Petraeus, they are moving either to substitute another target into the position or they have adequate confidence of control to place their own in the position. They are maneuvering to overcome all systems of checks and balances for absolute power.
