Statistics show that conservatives are overwhelmingly the people in this country who volunteer their time and give their money to charities.
Very few of the lefties I know ever do anything that isn't for their own benefit. When they give, it's to political causes. The only time they ever do anything for the underprivileged, the at-risk, the needy is if they are getting paid to do it.
I say we pull out and let the country see what happens when an army of conservative volunteers fails to show up.
Let's switch places with the lefties. Let them do the heavy charitable lifting while we focus on politics.
I have for many years done a lot of volunteer work and given much to charity. That ends today.
In addition, I will do my best to avoid patronizing any business that supported 0bama.
The Red Cross will find their take from Hurricane Sandy greatly reduced after the election. People won’t give their money if they know that these states voted for Obama, and he is about to tax them to death.
“White women? They are Democrats because they are getting back at their daddies.”
Their daddies should give any estate he may have left after Obama’s rule to SPCA or the Salvation Army instead of to off-spring who mocked his values and rebelled against his good advice.
“A republic - if you can keep it.” Ben Franklin
Truth is, we couldn’t keep it. We’ve been outbred and out manuevered by people envious of the fruits of our hard work and moral values, people who loath who we are, and have acted on that loathing, and who will now have essentially no constraints on such action from here on out.
I do not drop out to teach them a lesson, or to get even, or with some strangely delusional hope that somehow this will propell us to some elevated role in a future renaissance of America. I drop out because I will be dead soon, and I don’t wish to spend my remaining time supporting those who think I owe them my labor.
The country will fall apart or fall into darkness soon, no matter what we do. Charity is a matter of individual conscience, and it begins at home.
Naaah. Pulling to plug on charity focuses on those who don’t deserve it.
I try to do that now, but I think the unions that are the biggest voting block are the public sector unions.
By the way the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos gave $1 Million in support of gay marriage and he is in Seattle, WA and I think it was on the ballot there.
I’ve donated countless hours to mentoring inner city kids (98% black). I’ve donated countless hours to teaching English to immigrants.
Yesterday I was accused of wanting to bring back slavery (because I was handing out Republican sample ballots).
If there is any slavery in the USA it is the slavery of people working hard and handing it over to the deadbeats who do nothing but hold their hands out. We have become their slaves. They’ve had reparations 100 times over.
I am fed up.
I am sick of giving and then being accused of racism and told that I am still not giving enough.
And one more thing. There are various groups at my church that knit, crochet, and quilt. They produce blankets, scarves, hats, mittens. The county government then distributes these items as if it were from the benevolent government, and the church is not allowed to even write Merry Christmas on anything. They also are told that they must not make any of the items red, white, and blue, because some are distributed to muslims and that would be offensive to them.
Am I asking for a pat on the back for my work? No. I don’t even mind being invisible. But being told it’s never enough and that I’m a pro-slavery racist to boot? We all have our limits and I have been pushed past mine.
I grew up in Oakland. I’m white. My uncle told me if I grow and become poor it’s my own fault. I grew up and decided not to be ppor. The black kids listened to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and our poor. Same neighborhood...different message received....different result.
With that said, we need to keep working this issue. Black folks will never have any real political leverage in this country until they have large numbers in both parties...and they are not just simply abused by their Democratic masters.
In all seriousness, black people are just used and thrown away by the Dems in this country. They hand them out 900$/month, give them a phone, and keep basically them like that their whole life. We just have to be able to get these folks listening to a better message...
Distribute it yourselves with little crosses all over it, only ever in red white and blue and put merry christmas on it etc...
Wave goodbye to the county
we've not reached out. the attitude from you and others is people should just find conservatism and the Republican party isn't what the Dems and their ethnic/language media say they are on their own. that's lazy.
Then don't call them that. Keep in mind, liberals torture the language. Affordable Care Act anyone?
To wit we rename these as follows:
- VoterID -> United Nations Voter Standard
The UN observers were stunned at our "trust-based" system. A few suggestions could be found from them to bring our system up to "international standards". What liberal could resist getting in-line with suggestions from the UN observers?
- Immigration Reform -> Streamlining and Standardizing the US Immigration System
The current system is a mess, but 'reform' has a nasty bite to it. So we're just going to make it more efficient. After all, there are millions of people waiting in line, right? Don't even talk about the illegals.
- Welfare Reform -> Job Training and Placement Program
Sneaky, isn't it? Everyone wants a job, right? Who could object to such a thing?
Just some thoughts. There are some tactics the libs use that can be used to our advantage.
For once, why can't somebody counter their concerns by saying, "How would you feel if your vote was cancelled out by somebody who wasn't legal to vote?"
You don’t know what you are talking about.
Since Reagan, the GOP has done nothing but ‘reach out’ and try to become like liberals, to adopt liberal ideas, run ‘moderates’ and liberal Republicans and placate to ethnicity by advocating the same ideas as the Democrats so as to appease and appear likeable.
Reagan never apologized nor compromised his Conservatism. He ignored the media firewall and spoke directly to the people about Conservatism. Since Reagan, the media has made sure no Conservative will ever get away with doing that again, and the GOP Ruling Class is obsessed with trying to appease the media, whom they have surrendered is their only possible way to explain ideology to the people.
So let me say this - if being an immovable and uncompromising Conservative puts the GOP on the path to irrelevance - then the GOP deserves to be irrelevant and Conservatives need to go elsewhere and create a new party, which looks to be the case and may be necessary if Conservatism is to survive at all.
Excellent ideas!!!!! Things like this are how how we can begin to rebuild and attract minorities to our ‘conservative’ cause. We don’t compromise. We work! and we keep working and then we keep working!!! I’m sending your very words to Speaker Boehner and the RNC....and to my mom.
The truth of the matter is that most of their daddies are feminist men.
It is a complex issue- but most men have authority given to them, and then they go to all feminist in their leadership.
I have seen it unfolding for 30 years.
You are absolutely right.
Appearances count. We need to avoid appearances of evil, and the simple fact of the matter is that the Democratic Party has done a very good job of convincing lots of blacks and Hispanics that most white Republicans are closet racists who understand certain policies as “code words” for racist intentions that they can't say publicly.
That's garbage.
Unfortunately, lies work. People wouldn't lie if lies didn't succeed a significant percentage of the time. Convincing people that a lie is a lie is not easy, but we simply must convince traditional Catholic Hispanics, charismatic and other Protestant Hispanics, and secular Hispanic businessmen to vote Republican or we're going to become a permanent minority.
The same should be done with evangelical black pastors and secular black businessmen, but it will be much harder to do so because of a much longer history of actual bigotry against blacks that is much worse than denigration of Hispanics.
No I think it’s the opposite. We focus on helping each other and the less fortunate and screw everybody else. Conservative politics is dead on the national level until conservative leaders emerge. Perhaps focus on the state level.
