I’ve donated countless hours to mentoring inner city kids (98% black). I’ve donated countless hours to teaching English to immigrants.
Yesterday I was accused of wanting to bring back slavery (because I was handing out Republican sample ballots).
If there is any slavery in the USA it is the slavery of people working hard and handing it over to the deadbeats who do nothing but hold their hands out. We have become their slaves. They’ve had reparations 100 times over.
I am fed up.
I am sick of giving and then being accused of racism and told that I am still not giving enough.
And one more thing. There are various groups at my church that knit, crochet, and quilt. They produce blankets, scarves, hats, mittens. The county government then distributes these items as if it were from the benevolent government, and the church is not allowed to even write Merry Christmas on anything. They also are told that they must not make any of the items red, white, and blue, because some are distributed to muslims and that would be offensive to them.
Am I asking for a pat on the back for my work? No. I don’t even mind being invisible. But being told it’s never enough and that I’m a pro-slavery racist to boot? We all have our limits and I have been pushed past mine.
Distribute it yourselves with little crosses all over it, only ever in red white and blue and put merry christmas on it etc...
Wave goodbye to the county
