WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- New revenues "under the right conditions" are acceptable to Republicans as part of a deal to reduce the deficit, House Speaker John Boehner said Wednesday. But Boehner, speaking a day after his party retained its House majority in elections, said revenue should come through growth and reform, not higher tax rates. Bush-era tax cuts are set to expire and automatic spending cuts will kick in next year if Congress doesn't act in the lame-duck session

I mean, I seriously doubt he has the gonads to achieve...that.
Not only have they not read the article, they apparently WON'T read the article. Moreover, there is now at least one similar thread in which "the article won't get read" as well.
I dislike Boehner, but I dislike being played by the MSM just as much or more. Identify your targets every time, FReepers.
Mr. niteowl77
That’s what needs to happen. Obama, and the American electorate who put him there, need to live with their choices. Let Obama’s decisions play out, even if it means letting the US go over the fiscal cliff.
Yep. Did he even lift a finger to help out in his home state Ohio?
Boehner does not want to lift a finger or break a sweat.
He surrendered at the first sign of combat. Gutless.
“close loopholes” = “tax that which was not taxed before”.
“tax that which was not taxed before” = “new taxes”.
THINK!
Mia Love lost? In UTAH? Weird.
It does not matter what he says. What matters is what he does. There is not going to be any REAL growth. It is not possible under these conditions.
He didn't piss his pants. He had already taken them off and was grabbing his toes.
If you follow the link...it is not a made up title.
As I mentioned before, the MSM is at it again...
Next time reserve your judgment until you read the source....

“Identify your targets every time, FReepers.”
Indeed. Focus on defeating the American Soviet Party and the American Soviet Media. Smash the reds.
We did this starting in 2007. We built a $30K savings nest egg and had only the mortgage for debt. After losing two jobs to downsizing and a 50% paycut for 8 months in the middle, I am now back to fully employed 33% off my income levels from 2009. Our War Chest is gone and our debt is heavy.
We have significantly reduced our lifestyle and are paycheck to paycheck on Rommin Noodles trying to slowly (very very slowly) claw our way back out of debt. We have two vehicles paid for that have a combined 345,000 miles on them. We don't eat out and go on no vacations. No movies, no concerts, no fairs, no amusement parks, no museums, etc. Fishing, reading, working, and recreation league sports for the kids is about it. We tythe time at church these days while we work to re-build our lives. Dave Ramsey is my friend these days.
Dude, Me and my family is screwed. We have our faith, great kids and our health. That is what is most important to us now. I have given up on any sort of retirement or wealth to share. And I'm at peace with it. My focus is on the kids now.
For the record, I am not complaining, placing blame, looking for handouts, etc. But I am fine with the country collapsing now. I have nothing to lose as long as my family is healthy and safe.
Sorry. "New Revenues" not "New Taxes". My mistake. Here's a hint "New Revenues" is nothing more than political euphemism speak for NEW TAXES. Don't take my word for it, we'll all find out soon enough.
I lost any respect for Boehner a long time ago, and I suspect he is a large part of why no one respects congress, and especially the GOP.
“Closing loopholes” is raising taxes
They always say they will subsitute lower rates for lost deductions, however the entire point of their maneuver is to raise taxes to raise revenue
The Republicans should let sequestration go forward, and insist any tax increases be across the board, not just on the wealthy. It is time for everybody to pay their fair share.
