This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am in my 60's and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing Americans want, they should have it...and all its consequences.
Sour grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare, homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and on and on and on...
If given all this, the American electorate is either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good government, then have at it. Just count me out.
But, some day perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and things most cherished - civic values long held dear - will be gone forever.
In the meantime, this retiree will collect his pension and social security and together with savings watch those younger and smaller in number figure out how they will pay for all the 'government hand-outs' and supportive services the 'baby boomer' generation that is about to retire will require. All the time doing so without the tax revenue on the income they earned while working. They will have to figure out how they, a very much smaller cohort of taxpayers will make up the difference.
They will need to come up with some better ideas than one Barack Obama and his list of accomplishments from 2008 to present. Good luck but you won't be seeing me at the polls ever again. It's been a ride. Adios, Americanos.
68 here and agree 100%.
This is no longer the nation I served and swore to defend when it called on me to do so.
If it han’t already, America can now count me out.
I’ve had it!
At least you have a pension - for now. We are among those who actually had to save for our retirement. It’s been on us, there is no pension. You apparently have the luxury of sitting back and doing nothing. I do not. I will not give up. I will not stop fighting. Whereas we may have felt alone on an island in the past, the Internet has given us a valuable weapon in the war of information. We are able to find like minded people. We are able to organize. We have a way of getting the truth out there.
As my father used to say, “get off your butt and do something about it”. /rant
han’t S/B hasn’t
Oh really? So the base of our party sat out basically? OR maybe more Republicans voted for zer0 this time around?
Early voting for weeks and allowing dems to accrue a millions more in voters is not a good thing either.
I am in my 70’s and I too have voted in my last fed election. As H.L. Mencken said “ There’s no underestimating the intelligence of the American public”.
God Help and God Bless America,

Nothing, except cast a vote.
The Left does not rest or rely on honesty - it pushes forward. They infect school boards, committees, councils, you name it - and that is where they grind us down.
I had my wake up call, time to take control.
No, the Dems and the media will be able to pin it all on Bush, the way historians still fault Hoover for the Great Depression, ignoring how FDR's policies prolonged the suffering.
That just blows my mind. If Romney had That idiot McCains vote he’d be POTUS...
And when gas is high so is everything basically. Including food and clothes.
I’ve done some campaigning for office. Once you get access to the voter rolls, it’s an eye opener. People you think are upstanding citizens aren’t registered. Obviously they haven’t voted. Meanwhile things are obviously going to hell. It’s people that don’t vote that are the problem.
I think 2010 showed there’s hope. We had a candidate, Romney, crammed down our throats. I think we need to focus on 2014 and the Senate. We still have the House. We need to pound on them to make sure they don’t go astray.
Once you’ve given up, you might as well eat a bullet.
I couldn’t agree with you more...as I type this, there are tears in my eyes...and I weep for those who serve their country, sacrificing so much and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice...
He’ll have to take the blame for the crash, though he’ll try not to.
The dangerous thing is having a Marxist in power to “rebuild” after the crash.
McCain didn’t get more electoral votes than Romney though. McCain was beaten worse than Romney. I don’t know where the extra millions of votes were coming from for McCain..probably the Deep Red states but not the battleground states.
It’s difficult not to feel despair for our once-great country the morning after the election. Romney’s infamous 47% have now combined with the hippy losers of the 1960s to accelerate the decline of America from all our founders and forefathers envisioned for us. Moral, ethical, and fiscal soundness no longer matter to the majority. This makes me profoundly sad for the state of our country, and indeed, the world. No more will America be the bright beacon of liberty and opportunity. My gut reaction now is to turn inward and focus on the security of my much-loved family. The United States can look out for itself.
Leatherneck
And if you start to play dirty you still lose - because the refs have already been paid off.
Out of the game you go.
“You and your vote” are no longer relevant to anything. The Democrat organization controls the touch screen machines. During the early vote machines in at least six states reported machines changing Romney votes to Obama. Those were surely the machines that were not quite properly programmed. A properly programmed machine would not have shown the change. We are Venezuela writ large. There is no possibility of doing anything about voting machine fraud because once the votes are “counted” there is no record of the vote left at all.
Might I add, use your money wisely. Do not go to the movies or patronize anything liberal; do not support monetarily any thing that is against your beliefs...I know many don’t think boycotts work but if nothing else, it gives a semblance of having some control over your life.
“Americas biggest problem isnt fiscal decay; its moral decay. Weve institutionalized child sacrifice, infidelity, homosexuality, indolence and irreverence. America wont be blessed as it was until it changes. And that wont happen unless it suffers and wakes up.”
That, my friend, is the essence of the situation.
Very sad, but true. I would add, “...suffers and wakes up AND REPENTS!”
Understood that that was implied in your post.
