“. . .what is wrong with an absentee ballot? “

The Post Office, that's what.

I do not trust that bloated, lazy, irresponsible, partisan and downright criminally inept organization to deliver anything of value.

I vote early and in person to ensure the Post Office can’t get their dirty paws on my ballot.

My neighborhood is all out for Romney and the republicans.

Our mailman is one of Holder's people and is about the most incompetent mailman I've ever seen . . .his speech is all slang and unintelligible (and the tats on his arms and hands reflect some criminal background), at least a couple of times a week he delivers mail to the wrong home (apparently he is semi-illiterate). . .and I am going to trust that yahoo to deliver my ballot and not just dump it in the river? Especially when he knows our whole neighborhood is going for Romney and the republicans?

And he is just one mailman out of how many across the nation that would behave like any good democRAT would behave (voter suppression). Early voting ensures I see my vote on the machine and I see my vote actually cast.

No way.

That’s great.

In some places, a request form is always sent with the voter packet. If you have moved out of state, someone else can request an absentee ballot in your name.

I think it’s great your state is cracking down. I wish more would.

The policies some states have put into practice have ‘fiasco’ written all over them.

Someone asked me the other day if I had voted yet. I told him that I don’t believe in early voting. Voting should be a little bit difficult.

I agree. With the exception of Absentee ballots for people who can prove that they had no other choice.

One day. Twelve hours. End of story...

Some folks (Like me) work 12 or more hours per day.

Then vote absentee Randall.

Not trying to be disrespectful here, but there are enough problems with the polls only being open on one day. It’s almost impossible to stop the fraud when you open it up to voting over a period of days or even weeks.

Orange County, Fla. — isn’t that where Casey Anthony hails from? Maybe they need to transport her murderer ass to the polling place and then return her to her hiding place and that’s why they extended the hours...

UGH...

“Only paper ballots should be allowed”

I agree. I don’t know why the rest of the country doesn’t use the kind of machines that Nevada uses. They are touch screens, but when you cast your vote it makes a printout of your choices that you can see (but not touch) before you make your final ok. I don’t know what the law is for sure with the paper, but I personally think that a couple precincts should be chosen at random every election and the paper ballots should be tallied at a check against the machine tally, and if there is a large discrepency between the two (presumably favoring the democrats), then that precincts votes go to the paper winner, triggering a full recount of the paper ballots state wide. If discrepencies are found in this way, then all of the people in charge of the company that made the voting machines should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

This verification can be done in states like NV where there is a paper trail, it cannot be done in states without one. I do not know if we have a random check for a precinct or two, but we should have one.

Absolutely. That’s at least one reason behind all these polls that assume an even larger turnout of minorities as a percentage of voters than 2008. If, or rather when, those polls prove wrong and Romney wins, it will be because of “voter suppression”.

Wouldn’t voting absentee mean even more hands touching my vote?
I like that I can go in, show ID, fill out the form, get the card, go to the machine, vote, read the hard copy printout, and leave. It’s just myself, a poll worker and a machine that does the interaction. No (Possible democrat) mail handlers involved.
What I DON’T like is that I can’t get my voting history and read it to make sure that all of my votes stayed what they were supposed to -and not changed due to malfunction or fraud. But, I’m in the process of doing that with my county.

I don’t honestly know, because like you I go in to the polling station to vote.

It would seem to me that the absentee ballot would be mailed in without showing what your votes were. Anyone handling the ballot would be risking throwing away a ‘friendly vote’ if they discarded yours.

I believe that employers are required to allow you a break to go vote if you request one.

Right. I don’t know what ‘s wrong with using scan cards like we had in NC. It’s a simple to use, fill-in-the-dot form which is counted automatically and immediately at the poll, but they can always be independently recounted by hand if necessary.

Regardless of what security measures they use in “direct record” electronic systems, you’ll never have that hard evidence to verify. All you’ll ever have is what the computer tells you.

Could you elaborate a bit on the voter laws, and maybe some changes made in recent years down in Florida?

I heard for example that Florida checked its voter data for folks registered in Florida and other states, finding 40000.

They’ve had how many weeks to vote?
Why do they need to extend it?
Why can’t they vote on Tuesday, if they already waited this long to get in line?

Its truly amazing that we can ever garner more than 20% of the vote.

Think about it.

99% of all news, movie, film,tv, magazines, newspapers are staffed by DNC campaign workers.

Now we vote using 100% unionized Federal employees to make sure our vote makes it to the registrars.

See why the DNC wants the FED and UN to control the web?

BREAKING: JUDGE ORDERS EARLY VOTING IN ORANGE COUNTY, FLA., EXTENDED 4 HOURS AFTER DEM PARTY FILES LAWSUIT... DEVELOPING...

“Judges” are a real pain in the ass. What was the reason for extending, “Too sunny?” “Too dark!” They’ve been early voting for a month. Geeesh! What a bunch of morons. Anybody who hasn’t voted at least once by now doesn’t need to vote anyway.

You're exactly right and I agree with you! To the dimturds & the RAT bastard liberal activist judge who approved this, "What? 30 days of early voting are still not enough to accomplish all their cheating & ballot stufffing?"

I think these RAT bastard liberal judges will continue (as they already have in WI & other states) to constantly overule & overturn state & federal legislators & exec branch. It is way past overdue, and I think that Romney & Repub governors need to challenge these judges and to issue executive orders that overrule the RAT bastard judges's rulings. Until that happens, the activist liberal judges will continue with their judicial tyranny until we the people (and legislatures & exec branch-fed & state) rise up against these RAT bastard liberal judges. We need to rise up and throw them physically out of their judicial offices.
