Despite a carefully narrated version of events rolled out late this week by the CIA claiming agents jumped into action as soon as they were notified of calls for help in Benghazi, security officials on the ground say calls for help went out considerably earlier -- and signs of an attack were mounting even before that.
The accounts, from foreign and American security officials in and around Benghazi at the time of the attack, indicate there was in fact a significant lag between when the threat started to show itself and help started to arrive.
According to the CIA, the first calls for assistance came at 9:40 p.m. local time from a senior State Department official at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, to the CIA annex about a mile away.
But according to multiple people on the ground that night, the Blue Mountain Security manager, who was in charge of the local force hired to guard the consulate perimeter, made calls on both two-way radios and cell phones to colleagues in Benghazi warning of problems at least an hour earlier. Those calls allegedly went to local security contractors who say that the CIA annex was also notified much earlier than 9:40 p.m. U.S. military intelligence also told Fox News that armed militia was gathering up to three hours before the attack began.
One source said the Blue Mountain Security chief seemed "distraught" and said "the situation here is very serious, we have a problem." He also said that even without these phone and radio calls, it was clear to everyone in the security community on the ground in Benghazi much earlier than 9:40 p.m. that fighters were gathering in preparation for an attack.

By definition, if the team is held up for three hours at the airport, they are no longer covert and probably never were.
I have to leave the computer for perhaps an hour...

This whole sordid, sad, tragic affair has proven one thing. The only reasonably valid source of national/international news right now is FOX. Despite the protestations of the marxists...I know people make fun of ‘fair and balanced’ - but what are we to say of the Corrupt Media after this travesty? Should their motto be ‘unfair and imbalanced, ‘cause we lick Obama’s boots?’
The Corrupt Media has to be the most corrupt institution on earth, other than the Fed/Bankstas.
“there is no valid reason to disclose specifics about our capabilities and their purpose”
They reported they were ‘in the area.’ That’s no big revelation to our enemies. It may be a revelation to most Rats that are covering for Team Obama however. The buck stops where Obama?
What the White House naïvely bought into IN ADVANCE was a scheme to allow Amb. Stevens to be kidnapped and held for ransom.
Obama and Valerie Jarret desperately wanted to show Obama as the Master Negotiator, a mensch capable of doing what even the Great Jimmy Carter couldn't: successfully redeem hostages from muslims, and just in time for the election.
As an added bonus, it would provide the all the cover needed to release the Blind Sheik and all the "political" prisoners from Gitmo.
I believe Bronco and Val were astonished when the scorpion stung them in mid-river.
That they were so (dare I say it?) UNEXPECTEDLY betrayed caught them so utterly flat-footed that they still haven't come up with a good cover story!
Just one old, tired and cynical guy's opinion, of course.
Cite one demonstrable fact that says it isn't true, if you can...
That general concept of an explanation of the poop-storm that was Benghazi has been rattling around for a month-or-so.
I have no means of disputing any of it, or even of saying “That doesn’t sound right”.
The traditional punishment for treason is the gallows, not imprisonment.
“I KNOW what Patreaus is and I know what the President is, and they BOTH said it was because of the VIDEO!!!!!enough said.....two peas in a pod.”
The moment Petraeus became CIA Director, I knew what he was and what he represented. I even question his past record now.
You would have to be a certain “type” of person to work for Obama.
According to Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-UT03, General Ham was still very much in command, as of 1 October, when the two of them traveled together from AFRICOM HQ in Stuttgart to Libya.

“This should be one of the first priorities of President Romney, and we must hold his feet to the fire until every single person who knew, did nothing, or was complicit in the cover-up is held accountable.”
And the very fact that the Corrupted Media knew of the glaring problems in the truth narrative, the drip, drip, drip and did nothing to help Fox and the blogosphere (and the Benghazi witnesses), is enough to impugn what remains of their tiny, tattered reputation for professionalism and objectivity.
The Corrupted Media are (should be) done, over, finished, TOAST in the Court of public opinion.
As it was the only two fatalities there were due to smoke inhalation. I've seen pictures of the rescue vehicle with consultate people standing around during the 'attack' as if there is no incoming fire.
The two SEALs, having driven to the consulate and back, were killed at the CIA annex, which WAS under fire.
And, forgot to add, and to your point, I think President Romney will pursue this in only because the media/TOTUS feigned so much horror that he brought it forward to begin with - to prove them totally wrong.
I’ve been thinking (and saying) Jarrett is up to her neck and then some in this disaster. One day the truth will out - I think a charge of ‘treason’ would suit her well.
From your keyboard to God’s ears. Amen.

Thanks for dropping that point on here.
I want to know where the armed drones were kept, that were used to monitor Ghadaffi’s chemical weapons sites - in Libya, or outside Libya?
If they had armed drones in Libya then I believe somebody needs to be charged with murder outright.
I could feel my blood pressure rising as I read this article. If this wasn’t so serious, the US would be the laughingstock among nations, including our allies, over this. As it is, it’s got to be horrific to anybody who depends on the US as an ally.
The only thing upholding the Obama regime in the midst of all this is the treasonous silence of the so-called “news media”. But then, I heard an interview of an award-winning CNN journalist who said that CNN is paid by governments to publish their own propaganda under the cover of CNN’s supposed credibility as a news organization. The same thing that Saddam Hussein did, and CNN is still up to the same dirty crap they did with Saddam.
Of course, the real fools are the people who put up with this. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. But most people don’t know about CNN’s treason with Saddam and won’t listen to anybody who tells them about what’s going on now either.
I am so glad that there are some reporters getting the scoop from eyewitnesses. If they are willing to come forward in an investigation, the truth about the CIA, State Department, military, and White House coverup will be exposed as well as the truth about what happened that day and in the run-up to that day.
According to a former award-winning CNN journalist (I need to look again so I remember her name), the Department of Homeland Security is being used as a weapon to silence the media. The NSA records phone conversations between journalists pursuing regime-harmful stories and their sources and the Obama regime also prosecutes to force journalists to reveal their sources in the name of “homeland security”. This means that journalists know they are putting their sources in danger if they pursue stories harmful to the regime. And they are putting their media company in a position to need to spend mega bucks defending the right to keep sources confidential. This gal says that everybody she worked with at CNN was fuming about that.
