STOLEN AWAY: Brandon, 2, and Connor, 4, were washed away with their moms SUV during the storm. They were found in marshland nearby.

She should have evacuated earlier but, if she stayed that long into it, then the only choice was to hunker down and ride it out, get up high and dry and wait it out.

“Cops said Moore banged on the doors of nearby houses, desperately seeking help. But the people who answered turned her away”
Who the f*** would turn away a mother and children!!!!!!!!!!
I hope they are outed and made public.
What horror.

I don’t like what they are trying to do with this story. They’re trying to absolve the mother and shift blame onto a guy who refused her entry. One reporter really went after the guy on one of the television networks.
She didn’t have the boys with her. She had abandoned them in some very deep waters, and supposedly told them hold onto some tree roots while she looked for a place to take them. At least that’s her story.
They showed the area. I don’t honestly know how the man or the mother could have saved those kids.
What the hell is wrong with a woman who fails to listen to the warnings, then puts her children in that situation?
Those poor kids deserved better.

I understand the bodies of these poor kids were found right near where the NYC Marathon will start on Sun. So much for all that libtalk about sensitivity.

And this is just one story. And how do the liberals respond? With elitism as usual. The NYC marathon must go on, and let’s use giant generators for the media while millions are still without power.

And if that ain’t a hoot, my pop is a retired cop who just got a message to volunteer. To help the displaced families? Of course not. They want him to volunteer for the NYC marathon! Let’s just ignore what happened as we do not want the election ruined for The One. Move it along, nothing has happened here.

Mom decided to drive along a street directly next to the bay. In a hurricane.
If she had gone inland just a few blocks, she would have been above the storm surge.

Tragic that these little guys had to die and the mother will suffer with massive guilt for the rest of her life. Every parent who loses a child thinks that they are to blame whether they are or not, but she has no one to blame but herself.

STOLEN AWAY: No, they lost their lives due to their parents disregard of the warnings of a FRANKENSTORM! What were these people thinking? Not the welfare of their children obviously!

Having never been thru the horror that she has, I'm in no position to cast my judgment on this poor woman. She has lost her two children and the only words that should be spoken are words of prayer.......
I never cease to be amazed at the callousness of many alleged Christians on this site.

For those here who have been in situations, even the best plans don't survive events. Less than the best plans may have worse outcomes. Before we judge anyone, keep in mind that we weren't there, and I seriously doubt this woman had ever dealt with a situation remotely close to what she found herself dealing with. Most people's normalcy bias will cause them to evaluate a situation in a way which may not reflect the nature of events, even as those events are happening.
Similarly, in the storm, someone in a house full of people may not have heard her at the door, or may have suspected a robbery attempt if they did.
I will only offer my prayers for all involved, especially the boys and their parents. Those little guys looked as if they were well cared for and loved. Their parents must be going through unthinkable misery.
At this point, shoulda, coulda, woulda don't count, except for prior planning for someone else's 'next time'.
