Fox: Staten Island people in the streets fighting one another for food, water, clothing
Fox News Live | 11/2/12

Posted on 11/02/2012 7:13:59 AM PDT by pabianice

The excremental liberal press is boycotting coverage of this to protect Obama but Fox is covering it. Staten Island has received zero help after four days. Bloomberg has stolen three huge generators to power marathon tents and given no help to the people of Staten Island. The entire borough is a ruined disaster. No food, no water, no gasoline, the homeless wandering across the island with no shoes, no socks, injured, starving, crying for help from camera crews. People fighting one another over dumpster garbage. Death toll rising.

Another Liberal success story.

This does not surprise me, this whole situation was going to get bad really, really fast.

I realize the airlift idea is very colorful and dramatic, but what’s the matter with just driving the stuff in?

For one thing, the report I read said they are bringing them from California. Long drive...

“Long Island-based On Site Energy” Doesn’t sound like a utility company. Sounds more like a company that rents portable power stations.

I think it’s fine that Bloomberg looks like an ass. If he would have had a microgram of common sense, he would have made them cancel the event.

The sooner that people realize that when they become totally dependent on government, they have shredded any freedom, responsibility and any future they may have once had. Well they will have a future, but that future is in now the hands of government.

Maybe a few will take a new path as a result of this experience.

To bad Gen. Russel Honore retired from the army.
He took charge after Katrina in New Orleans and definitely NY needs someone like him in charge right now.
An old iron ass general is a lot better than a wimp PC mayor.

Staten Island people in the streets fighting one another for food, water, clothing

As opposed to fighting in the streets for wallets, jewelry and crack like they usually do. :-P

"There's 40 gallons of water in your water heater. Do you know how to get it out? There's another five in your toilet tank that can be scooped..."

Yep I know all of those things but maybe you ought to realize that many of the people you are telling to do these things FIRST need to find their water heater and toilets, see many of those houses are gone.

Bah. Any water still standing in roads isn’t deep enough to stop a truck. I assume Staten Islanders know what a chainsaw is? Seems to be a lot of urban helplessness going on here.

Not enough marbling.

I heard this morning that the Red Cross was delayed because of the massive traffic jams in the area. Which would sound plausible except - I’ve seen American helicopters deliver aid in disaster areas around the world. Why don’t they just send in a few helicopters with National Guard support for crowd control?

The roads are blocked and the helicopters are busy taking pictures. Crowd control isn't an issue.

That last photo is great.

Just saw on the news here in Seattle that the local air base is loading up their large aircraft with line crews and their vehicles to go help out. I doubt they are parachuting in the cherry-picker trucks though!

Here in Seattle wrt the huge earthquake that WILL come some day, plans are to fly support & supplies into Moses Lake airfield (150 miles away), truck as far as they can go (Mt. pass with bridges that may/will be down) and then chopper in the rest of the way. I’m planning on 4 weeks + before I would see any help.

Huh? There was an evacuation order issued for Staten Island before the storm arrived. Apparently some people were too foolish to heed it.

SI had two bad days, when power outages peaked at about 70%. That's no fun, but it's not the end of the world. Your food will not spoil in two days, especially in cool weather. Over 50% of customers had service restored by early yesterday. Right now well over 2/3 of customers have power. So this is not the end of the world. This is not another Katrina (I was out of power for a MONTH -- crybaby). There is no life-threatening cold in the immediate forecast.....

Rockaway still has no power (100%) and homeless people due to the three sections that burned. But that doesn't make the news ...

When they evacuated did they remember to take their financial papers with them. You know the mortgage papers, insurance papers, tax papers, the kind of stuff that a guy would need to file insurance claims?

Or are you saying they never watched the evening news and weather station. That would interfere with SpongeBob Square or Trading Spouses wouldn’t it? So yeah, I can understand being surprised when the surge wave lifts the house off the foundation under those circumstances.

I have already discussed with my insurance agent what would happen if my home was totally destroyed. File the claim and within 24 hours I’ll have a check for $5000 to get me settled. Yeah, I am a prepper.
