What a difference a storm named Sandy makes, eh, Mr. President?
Thanks to Sandy, Barack Obama can act presidential once again at least on TV. Sandy allows him to get on that phone with those FEMA bureaucrats and tell them to stop talking and do something. And Sandy brought him praise from that chunky Republican governor from New Jersey.

Not even a hurricane can save the Kenyan.
Yeah, Barack gets to grandstand.
A competent president wouldn’t need to grandstand, he’d delegate it to a trusty sidekick.
If he needs to be perceived by the US public as fulfilling the bare minimum of his job, then he’s losing.
Sorry, can’t read the column without signing in.
ridiculous headline. the skinny fraud couldnt be saved by 10 hurricanes, 4 tsunamis, and 6 earthquakes at this point.
Barry Soetoro sat on his ass doing a photo op while "monitoring" the storm on TV and deciding where to send taxpayer dollars (somebody else's money) and then take credit for it.
OTOH: Mitt Romney was at a center asking for donations (food, etc.) from Republicans (most who wanted to meet him) and preparing these donations to be sent up to the disaster area.
Hmmmmmmm.
Bad for those hurt from the storm, but it changes nothing.

Yet a few weeks ago, there was a different Obama, the Obama of Sept. 11, the Obama of Benghazi, when Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others were killed by terrorists. Almost as depressing as reports of their deaths was the fact that no military help arrived in a firefight that lasted more than six hours.
Was the president watching it all in the White House situation room? We don’t know. Jay Leno didn’t ask him, neither did David Letterman, nor the ladies of “The View” or music journalists on MTV. These are the places he goes so as to get big hugs, not hard questions, as President Eye-Candy.
"We leave nobody behind....make sure we're providing the help that's necessary"
Goes on national TV at LEAST 3 times for a Hurricane but not four a terrorist attack where 4 Americans are murdered? How did 0bama know that there weren’t more terrorist attacks to follow? Because maybe the one in Benghazi was STAGED, and a ‘one off’ hostage-taking gone bad?
‘for’ not ‘four’, sorry.
And yet on Greta tonight, Republican Haley Barbour called the storm a plus for Obama, because the media was focused on nothing else. His comments, plus Republican Chris Christie's effusive praise for Obama today, and Christie's tour with Obama tomorrow (without inviting Romney), makes me think the fix is in.
Maybe that is why the NHC refused to use the phrase "hurricane warning" for anything north of the Carolinas.
It’s not going to change anything unless he manages to blow it; which, considering the fact that FEMA advised hurricane victims to contact them via the Internet earlier today is a real possibility. It’s what’s expected of him as president. And there’s no reason Haley Barbour and other surrogates can’t show up and say, well, at least he learned something from the BP spill. Remember what a pooch poke that was? That’s not a good episode to remind voters of at this point.
Maybe he will look as odd as Dukakis in a tank.
The fat boy from New Jersey has to play nice, He will be getting a check.
As for Obama , what does it cost him to write another check on our account? He can afford to be generous, it isn’t his money.
Obama dosn’t have to lift a finger except to try to take credit for being Presidential.
In the “Situation Room”, he’s the one in the high chair with his thumb in his mouth.
The media can cheerlead this deal all they want. Obama’s campaign is out of bullets, and now all they have is to play the “look presidential” card. This race has always structurally been Romney’s to lose. The “Obama lead” only showed up due to Propaganda level polls showing more Dems than 2008 showing up. Never was that going to be the case. There is no chance that Obama gets more crossover than Romney, period. Romney showed up and brought game in this campaign. Obama is at 45,46,47,48 percent with still a 3-5% party ID edge. Gallup says this year’s electorate is R +1. So the 45-48 is really more like 43-46. With 125 million votes cast at a 7 point margin, Obama needs 4.5 million minds to change. Not happening. And the Friday jobs number will be the death knell.
