International election observers planning to visit Texas polling places have full immunity from being arrested in the United States, the State Department said when discussing a letter from the Texas Attorney General.
Im not going to get into any kind of hypothetical situations or predict where this is going to go other than to say we have every expectation that this will be worked out and to state the fact, which is that under U.S. law they are eligible for immunities, said State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland. Reporters tried to get her to state explicitly that Texas could not arrest election observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), but Nuland would only reiterate that OSCE observers have full immunity.
Attorney General Greg Abbott, R-Texas, warned OSCE that it may be a criminal offense for OSCEs representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling places entrance, as The Hill noted.

Indeed. No matter what ID or credentials they have it must still be verified. That can take some time.
I read a very interesting book recently, “Patriots”. It is a novel discussing the coming financial collapse and the repercussions that might be expected. It, along with “One Second After”, are eye-opening books about the fragility of our civilization.
I guess down in Texas they will have to call it “detained,” then. Hehehe. Detained, taken to the airport, and sent packing back to wherever their passport says they’re from. And charged to the State Department too. LOL!
Really? Is this the State Depts next priority?
Sounds like another Fort Sumpter to me.
They already know now to "fix" elections in communist cesspools. They need to learn how to get around more conservative election systems.
Sure, they can. The federal government cannot tell Texas who may be in their polling places.
Well, diplomats have full immunity... but...
if they start committing crimes they get sent packin’.
If they go on a murder spree... if they go all strauss-kahn... they make like a tree.
I think Feds are gonna push their version of elections too far for the SCOTUS. SCOTUS says States can’t do things that are unconstitutional concerning elections... but States still have their own laws regarding elections.
Seems to me the State dept is trying to cram too much down the throat of States.
They better believe they will be arrested if they interfere. Our Texas attorney general posted this on facebook earlier today:
“Im drawing a line in the sand on anyone who wants to mess with Texas elections! ‘LIKE’ this to let me know you’re with me!”
Bull $hit! The only one with immunity from arrest in Texas is Willie Nelson.... Everyone else has to obey the rules or wait until the judge returns from his hunting/fishing trip....
In my parts there is an area known as the Big Thicket. People have been known to go in there and never return.
Exactly. They aren't registered Texas voters so put a few Texas Rangers, sherrifs and DPS at each poll to make sure they stay far, far away. If they cause a ruckus, escort them them off and go through their diplomatic papers very, very slowly.
Diplomatic immunity does not mean that they are free to break our laws. If it did, diplomats would be free to walk in any bank at will, rob it at gunpoint, and walk away free as a bird.
We can detain, and deport lawbreakers with immunity, we cannot prosecute them in our courts.
Go get ‘em Texas!@!
Exactly
They have no Constitutional authority to grant immunity to “international” or “multinational” bodies.
Further, the Fed Guv has no authority over deciding State election laws, and I’m pretty sure there will be issues on every ballot other than national ones.
Tar and Feathers
But I think better to round them all up and a drop them on a two lane road somewhere in the mountains of eastern Kentucky...give them all jackets that say BATF on the back to keep warm during their "walk" out of there.
Don't bet on that. Texas should just throw their asses in jail for 24 hours and let the State Dept. wring their hands, dither, and wet their pants like they always do.
