Wow. Folks, get a grip. If Patraeus says he didn’t make the call, then who did? What more does he need to say? We do not want a situation where the director of the CIA goes rogue on the president. He’s limiting his input in the interest of maintaining that distance. Congress is where this belongs. If he’s called, he can answer their questions in a formal setting. That’s how I’d rather see it play out.

Thank you, DoughtyOne! People don't realize that General Petraeus was not in the chain of command of the Benghazi incident.

The senior combatant commander was General Carter Ham, Commander of US Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany. Gen. Ham has considerable assets at his command, including a highly capable In-Extremis Force that was forward deployed at NAS Sigonella, Sicily - just two hours from Benghazi. Gen. Ham's command center was monitoring the flash event in real time, immediately evaluating its armed rescue options. And here's the most important fact...

As the combatant commander, Gen. Ham answers ONLY to the Secretary of Defense and the President, in that order. Leon Panetta and Barack Obama are the only two men on earth who could have ordered General Ham to stand down.

Coupled with the fact that our men on the rooftops were lasing targets, calling in strikes, and being denied, this is very damning of Obama, without Patraeus jumping in with both feet.

The C-130 gunship was in the air, and it was developed for this exactly scenario. There was no need to send in more troops. Just unleash the weapon on station overhead.

The enemy would have stood down immediately.

Yesterday evening a member of the military (someone with some clout I don’t remember who just now) stated that when they can’t get people on the ground in close in circumstances, they fly over one of our fighters close to the ground, and that fairly well breaks up attacks.

Obama did nothing.

General David Petraeus' statement, in and of itself, is remarkable.

The CIA does as a matter of policy, does not confirm or deny operational details or even outlines except to the National Security Council, the President, the Congressional Intelligence Committees, or those with specific need to know.

If Petraeus is still the man some of us believe him to be, he will wait until Monday morning start of the news cycle and then publicly resign, citing the lack of action and subsequent cover-up as the reason why. The incompetence and inaction of the Executive exposed CIA operatives and assets in Northern Africa. It was not the first time that the President compromised National Security for the sake of political advantage. The President needs to be exposed.

Petraeus can do so.

I posted this on another thread, regarding Petraeus.

“I am holding out hope for Petraeus. My son served under him, and respected him.

Petraeus’s big mistake? Assuming that the den of vipers in D.C. had the best interests of US at heart, thinking that he could help.

I could be wrong, of course. I have been before.”

Perhaps the core principles of our best Generals blind them to the possibility that the “elected” ones may not have our nation’s interests at heart. It might be the farthest thing they could imagine, even though there is certainly politics and self-serving idiots in our Army (several come to mind, like Wesley).

This whole mess should be allowed to play out, but we shouldn’t be so stupid as to condemn everyone, until we get the full story.

And, we are entitled to that full story! So, get on the horn and demand it. We will not survive as a nation if we fail to demand total transparency, complete detail, from those who have been elected or appointed to SERVE US!

And, let’s demand that that they no longer let muslims into our country, and repatriate anyone refusing to convert from that autocracy called Islam.

According to my understanding, muslims cannot take an oath of allegiance to the United States of America without lying about their true allegiance to the false prophet, Allah, who intended to rule the world.

So, send anyone home who refuses to leave a belief system that places “Allah” above the Constitution of the USA, and that means leaving the Islamic autocracy, improperly called a “faith”, instead of a system of government.
