Love love love Texas. State's rights to govern their elections. The Alamo forever! Blue Hats, never.

Don't mess with Texas.

No we don’t, so go home.

Y’see, Skippy, now there’s yer problem: there’s the United States, and then there’s the Great State of Texas [or insert your state here if you can run with the big dogs]. Understandable mistake on your part. Now git.

Doesn’t the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) have some pathetic little dung heap in one of the 56 European and Central Asian nations affiliated with them that is in need of some nanny-care...Because Texas is not one of them.

Good for Texas. Doing what all Americans should be doing. Tell Mr. Janez Lenarčič to stick it where the sun don't shine.

“The threat of criminal sanctions against [international] observers is unacceptable,” Janez Lenarčič, the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), said in a statement.

I don't give a damn if you accept it or not, or how many dippy doo's you have over the top of your funny-sounding name. You done wore out your welcome to Texas. Git out!

“The United States, like all countries in the OSCE, has an obligation to invite ODIHR observers to observe its elections.”

See that phrase, “Obligation to invite”, that's bovine scatology.

Texas has NO “obligation” to foreign countries to invite them anywhere. The only obligation we have to is follow our laws and no where will you find “obligation to the UN” anywhere.

I think this is where Texas stands up to evil.

I read yesterday that some states actually have it written into law to invite these people. I don't recall if it gave the names of those states. What a crazy thing to do.

Stay out of my Texas county. We are about 95% Republican and I would bet our law enforcement people are ready to arrest these invaders if they show up to violate our distance markers at polling places. The UN needs to think twice before they cross the border into Texas.

who are these people? who invited them?

Texas did not do so. Obviouisly they do not know how elections work. (state vs federal)

aresting them is not only a good idea, it is REQUIRED.

On sites like Huffington Post their conversation is all about “don’t those rednecks know about diplomatic immunity????”

Well, just because you are a diplomat doesn’t give you PERMISSION to do what an ordinary US citizen cannot do.

I cannot just walk into a polling place and demand to be a poll watcher.

There are rules.

There is an old Polish proverb I wish to offer to the ODIHR....."Tough Shitski!" "Stay out of my state and I will stay the hell out of your country. We run our state how we run our state. So don't think for one minute you can come here, flash a badge, and make us nervous. We eat breakfast 300 miles from thousands in a Mexican cartels who want to kill us. So, roll the dice and take your chances." (Adapted from Nicholson in "A Few Good Men").
