Four years ago, this newspaper's editorial board enthusiastically endorsed Barack Obama, then a young senator from Illinois, for president of the United States. As much as we admired the long and courageous service of his Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain, we believed that the nation needed fresh ideas and the fresh start that a leader with Obama's charisma and only-in-America backstory could provide.
Today, we recommend President Obama's re-election. He has led the nation back from the brink of depression.

Well there goes 5 votes.
The Cleveland Plainly Delusional. not recommended for birdcage use.
Fixed.
Love the gum on the tongue. Classy.
I am so sick of hearing this crap about bringing us back from the brink of a great depression. I hear it all the time from the Obamabots. If he didn’t do what he did (Stimulus), we would have been in a great depression. Based on what facts? Its all conjecture! That’s like me telling Joe, who is a loving devoted husband, that he should never hit his wife, laying out all the reasons that it is wrong. Since Joe has never, and would never hit his wife, can I run around proclaiming that my intervention prevented his wife from suffering spousal abuse? Of course not, but that is exactly what Obama is doing.
The "Plain Dealer" is fit only for taking to midnight showings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I can’t wait until that P.O.S. rag fades into the ash heap of history. They’ll be going to a 3-day publishing schedule soon. It’s only prolonging the inevitable.
Agreed. If you want to compost your birdcage liner/birdpoop mix, DO NOT use the Cleveland Plain Dealer. All your plants will die.
” Today, we recommend President Obama’s re-election. He has led the nation back from the brink of depression.”
Uh huh....
For every $7 brought in by govt, $11 is spent.......
Obamas redistribution racket in actual numbers.
Thats $2.5 trillion in tax revenues and $3.5 trillion in spending-44 percent more was spent than govt took in.
Cleveland? LOL. Hope this rag goes out of business.
What difference does it make who you endorse when half the voter base can’t read?
If Obama’s leadership has been so sound, why did 66% of Ohio voters overwhelmingly defeat a referendum on ObamaCare in 2010?
And why did Ohio voters also defeat their Democratic Governor, Ted Strickland, in 2010 and replace him with a Republican, even though Obama campaigned numerous times for Ted Strickland?
If Obama had been doing such a ‘’sound’’ job in Washington, certainly Ohioans would have wanted a carbon copy of him to continue doing a sound job in Ohio. In fact, both Democrats were doing terrible jobs.
In 2010, the Cleveland Plain Dealer endorsed Ted Strickland and almost certainly ObamaCare, and a lot of good it did.
The Nazis, the national socialist party, convinced the German people that it was OK to abuse and kill Jews because the nazis were going to give the German people a golden Germany. That was what they told the German people they were going to get. What the German people in fact received were tons of bombs and Russians raping their women. the nazis convinced the German people that they, the nazis, we’re answering to a higher calling. They said they would produce a golden Germany. This is where we are with the American media. The Cleveland Plain Dealer knows the Democrats lie and steal and give us policies that give us thousands of deadvAmericans, but that’s OK because the Democrats tell us they want to give us a golden America.
We have an American journalist saying on tv that Obama answers to “a higher calling”. The higher calling of the Germans gave us millions of dead Jews. The higher calling of the Russians gave them the gulags. The higher calling of the socialists in Cambodia gave them The Killing Fields. The Cleveland Plain Dealer needs to wake up! Those socialist “higher callings” get lots of people killed. Quit covering for these idiot Democrats.
"Mitt Romney... HE SUCKS! Bad!"
****He has led the nation back from the brink of depression.****
It would be interesting to see a study on the increased sales of anti-depressents since this Bozo assumed office.
As for Romney - his GOP primary campaign and subsequent enthusiastic support from ‘shaky’ conservatives illustrates how a dogged individual becomes successful through organization and perseverence.
For the length of my life, 62 years, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has been out of touch with reality. It is awful.
