So the other morning a reader e-mails me a picture of a handful of women demonstrating outside the headquarters of the Ohio Republican party in what we expert analysts round about this point in the quadrennial election cycle like to call the critical battleground of the Buckeye State. The women each wore two giant pieces of cardboard, front and back. Ah, I thought, a timely protest. These activists understand that, with Obamas flatline economy drifting inexorably to a $20 trillion federal debt, well soon be living in cardboard shacks in shantytowns in the parking lot of the bankrupt Solyndra factory. Or its what theyll be using for the x-ray plates at your local hospital once the Obamacare rationing kicks in. Or maybe its the perfect visual metaphor for the flimsiness of U.S.-government security at its Middle Eastern embassies before the Death to the Great Satan! crowd punched through the compound like so much soggy cardboard.
But no. The women were chanting Equal rights, not binders, and they were protesting the following remarks by Mitt Romney at the presidential debate:
And so we took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet. I went to a number of womens groups and said, Can you help us find folks? And they brought us whole binders full of women.
Yes!!!!!!! With one bound, Obama was unbound! Romney had just made the worst presidential-debate gaffe since Gerald Ford declared there was no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe. In the previous weeks, Obama had attempted to have a serious conversation with the citizenry, as befits the electoral process of a mature republic. He had raised the critical questions of our time free contraceptives for middle-aged coeds, the outrageous right-wing Muppophobic assault on Big Bird but the public had failed to bite. Now, in one fatal error, Romney had handed him the winning issue: binders!
I should have pinged you to this one also.

My favorite part of the whole article was the coining of the word
“Muppophobic”.
I like it because it makes fun of the left’s use of “phobic” to describe any judgement of unacceptable behaviorial tendencies.
” Mark Shields just said (on Inside Washington) that Hillary is the most popular woman of all time. ???!! “
Uh....notorious, maybe.
Shields, I guess its too late to ax you to sober up.
I live in a town that seems like the skunk capital of the world. In past decades I used to make jokes with the family when returning to town. As soon as I smelled the odor, I would quip that we were clearly almost home.
Frankly, the pol-cats are more popular than this woman. For one thing, they stink less.
Bill is beginning to look like he’s at death’s doorstep. Hillary looks like she’s had a fight with a ball bat and didn’t make contact once. She can’t say the same for the bat.
I don’t know of a more vile couple in politics. It was Bonnie and Claude. She had to go on television to get him near the White House. She had to keep other women off television to get him inside.
Folks can say what they want, there isn’t another political figure we can point to with more deaths surrounding them, unless perhaps Huey Long. Frankly, I think Huey would be in awe of these two. “How did they get away with that?”
Hillary the most popular? I guess silencing raped brutalized women does garner you some popularity in some circles.
In what universe I don’t know.
Nice going Mark. Nice going Hillary. You two represent pretty much the best of what it is to be a Democrat these days.
” Bill is beginning to look like hes at deaths doorstep. Hillary looks like shes had a fight with a ball bat and didnt make contact once. She cant say the same for the bat.
I dont know of a more vile couple in politics. It was Bonnie and Claude.”
The very worst we have ever been subjected to.
Is it a popular delusion, or did it really happen some years back, that feminists said that women should get down on their knees for Bill Clinton because he was pro-abortion?
I tried to google it, but could not find it there. Compare that to the leftist manufactured "binders" issue.
” Is it a popular delusion, or did it really happen some years back, that feminists said that women should get down on their knees for Bill Clinton because he was pro-abortion? “
One prominent feminist said this. I forget her name.
Binders of women vs. binders of Muslims. You decide.
One poster on this bulletin board seems to agree with your take, although there is no official quote.

Joe: Who the hell cares? Two adults had an affair
If you grew up being lectured by feminists about sexual harassment in the workplace (Jones), sexual discrimination in the workplace (Lewinsky) and sexual assault in the workplace (Wiley) you certainly cared.
It was the moment the feminist movement got down on their hands and knees and swallowed in exchange for a Clinton veto of a partial birth abortion ban.
True colors revealed.
Thank you Monica.

Didn’t find anything that looked like a public figure making the comments.
Did find a rather funny reference to Clinton being the first Femagogue. I think Obama picked up right where he left off too.
Agreed. I am reading up on some information concerning Obama, that does involve some toes up. This guy had an interesting life before coming to Washington, and it occurs to me that Donald Trump may know about it.
Obama may turn out to be about as bad as some of us thought he was. That’s not too good... ;^)
I have a feeling that at least one of those notcase feminists (and that description would not exclude politicians) actually said something like that....
Mika just cant’t believe they don’t get it :) I wonder if some day scientists will figure out this kind of mental disorder. If it was just a difference between men and women, O’s numbers would be better....
She was in a way better mood this morning cheering that her man won last night. She was glowing.
I had to switch away from that to F+F just to see Dick Morris explain why Romney was still going to win, but he didnt look happy.
LINK: If you believe Rasmussen and RCP, at this moment the electoral score is very, very close.
So what will this debate do? if anything?
” This guy had an interesting life before coming to Washington, and it occurs to me that Donald Trump may know about it.”
If nothing else, Trump can afford only the best private investigators.
It sounds to me like Obama came off as a “whiny little -itch”. Not Presidential.
