Actually not the case. A veep who becomes pres can only run for the "third" term if he served less than half of the first term. 10 years (less one day) is the max that any one person can serve as pres.

I agree with you, there really is a going through the motions element. It actually looks like he doesn’t want to be re elected.
Obama hasn’t even bothered to come up with any sort of real, or even imaginary jobs plan for voters to get the least bit excited about. His answers to the two job seekers in the debate could not have been worse.
The govt today could tell everyone that unemployment is zero, but that wouldn’t change the fact that there are all sorts of folks unemployed, underemployed, struggling financially. These folks are as a majority not going to vote for the guy that has a 4 yr track record of talk but no action.

Maybe obama doesnt really want to win this election? I have often wondered about it. What if his plan is to go on to something else, lets say like head of the UN.. we would still be somewhat under his thumb if that happened. *sigh*
He would have to proclaim that he is a foreign national, born in Kenya, to become UN Sec. Gen. The Security Council members of the UN, of which the USA is one, cannot by agreement have anyone serve as Sec. Gen.
