Washington (CNN) -- Before Tuesday night's debate, polls showed Mitt Romney had gained ground with women voters.
But his comments about using "whole binders full of women" as a hiring aid while governor, whiffing on an equal pay law question, and alluding to helping women get home to cook dinner has landed the GOP presidential hopeful in verbal quicksand with some female voters.
He'll have to do some serious repair to regain traction, political experts say.

Where t f does all these Abdullahs come from??
Binder?
I hardly know her.
My wife and three daughters hate PC talk. They prefer a straight forward discussion and don’t mind a little heat in the discussions. Romney scored well in their eatimate.
Leave it to an Abdullah to preach to us about women's needs. LMFAO. Really. F U Abdullah.
Professional women do agonize about the loss of quality family time, and prepping dinner for the kids and tucking them in et al.
Romney is right on track with those comments.
He didn't just pander to women either. He explained that he didn't think it was the government's job to help make their contraceptive choices. Right on. And most women will feel the same way.
Looks like CNN doesn't want Fox's abandoned demographic after all.
Candy Boo Boo Child's henious performance, then this bulls*** made up manufactured 'gaffe'.
It seems we must get them cheaper by the gross.
Ok so lying for weeks about the causes of an attack on a US Embassy is not offensive. But meaning to say “binders of women’s resumes” but accidentally shortening it to “binders of women” is offensive....are people at CNN forbidden from using their brains?
Off-topic, but check out this ad. I think it’s one of the most powerful I’ve ever seen.

My guess is that women who get all huffy about “binders full of women” are the same women who get wound up about a big, bad, scary evil male opening up a door for them. (Ohhh! The horror!)
Honestly, I have considered myself a feminist since I knew what one was, only because I think women should be *allowed* to do whatever they wish, if they can, and because people who do the same job should get the same pay. End of discussion. (You have to remember that I come from a time when girls were not allowed to run the projector, but boys were ... for absolutely no stated reason. Except that boys could do it and girls weren’t allowed to. So you see I have some sensitivity of my own on this subject.) But women with families have some “special needs,” and if we’re going to be HONEST about this discussion instead of all PC about it, then that’s going to come up. I give Romney EXTRA stars for coming out and discussing it honestly.
Good grief.
Once again, proof that a columnist with an approaching deadline will write anything.
This is so desperate it’s pathetic.
When I worked for the Census, the big kahuna would bellow for a ‘folder of people’ when we needed more hires.
So effing what?
I knew what he meant and I was only 18 and newly fallen off the turnip truck.
Are these people too stupid to get the gist of a comment?
Bindergate!
"We don't have to collect a bunch of binders to find qualified, talented, driven young women ...," Obama told supporters.
So I guess Obama's not interested in middle aged and older women finding work?
Wow, CNN, that’s some serious spin!!
Imus this morning - Blonde On Blonde
He got so mad at Lis Wiehl about the binder comment that they had to bleep him:
Starts at 2:45
Hey, Abdullah. Your camel is so pissed at you for this stupid piece of writing that she said you can cook your own dinner tonight. Also, no humping at all.
4 dead americans at an embassy...not a story.
Binder full of women...scandal.
American media is bullshit.
I think women know what Romney meant.. This is 'Big Bird, the Sequel'. The Dems are grasping at straws.
