DISCOVERING GOD
Tomorrow many will enjoy a day off to celebrate Columbus Day. Columbus day is a legal holiday that we, as North Americans along with Latin Americans, celebrate the landing of Columbus in the Bahamas in 1492. Because of this discovery, a country, the United States of America, would come into existence based upon a pursuit of God Jehovah and the right to worship as we please. "Admiral Byrd, the explorer, one day was passing through the lobby of a hotel when a large company of people commenced cheering him. Two men were joining in the salutation, when one was overheard remarking to the other: 'He is the last of the explorers; there is nothing left for the rest of us to explore." Little did they realize that as we face a new millennium we would be standing on the edge of discovering new worlds and the world in which we live. The same can be said of God. We might think we know the story and everything there is in our relationship with the Creator of all that is to be discovered, but spiritually, we have just begun to see and know what God can be and do in our lives. It all tends to come into focus when you are standing on the top of the Rocky mountains at night looking out into space at the stars that are as numerous as the sands of the sea, or on the bow of a ship when the moon is cutting a path before you in the blackened waters of an endless ocean. You begin to understand how little we know about the mysteries of God when you hold a newborn child as the morning sun's rays break through your window, bathing you in the newness of a new day. As the Queen of Sheba said of Solomon's Kingdom, "But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me....". We only know in part. So, let us purpose to discover, see for ourselves, and know more of the God that lives within us and begin to claim His many promises for us. Let us, by faith, sail the old ship of salvation into the horizon of the Holy Word and find a greater love and knowledge of our God and Messiah. Remember, "...we are all in the same boat with Christopher Columbus. He didn't know where he was going when he started. When he got there he didn't know where he was, and when he got back he didn't know where he had been". The moral of the story being, "Just do it." God will bless you in your spiritual journey and you will always find Him there.

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...hope you’ve enjoyed your Saturday.
The sun peeked out for a bit today, but it is looking more and more like rain.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

A good Saturday, Thanks! Navy knocked off Air Force earlier today and Notre Dame is in the process of defeating my Law School Alma Mater. Tomorrow is Mrs. MacNessa's 29th Birthday - Steaks on the Grill, Champagne, and other delights!

I don't know. Haven't got a report from G-Ma today yet. But I wouldn't be surprised if he did and was terrorizing G-Ma.

Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. . Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, . And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! . Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. . The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. . Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. . The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine. . When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

DEAR LORD, who suffered torment, agony, and death upon the Cross to free our souls from the chains of iniquity, protect and defend our troops. Guide them in the performance of their duties. Strengthen them to endure hardship, danger and deprivation in Your service. Let their efforts free the people of Iraq and Afghanistan from the chains of terror and slavery, foster a lasting peace in the region, and bring all to a greater share in Your Mercy.
Amen.

Thanks. Winter weather came for 2 days and left again. Upper 40s and more rain. Our water table is going to be the same as the grass....a consequence of so much rain this summer. If we don’t have snow before a big freeze, look out for frozen pipes.

Just got tonight’s Nate report. Nate has walking down pat for short distances along with lots of climbing. G-Ma doesn’t get back here until after supper time Monday.
Tries to get any table food he sees.

Wow we had the opposite, very dry summer. I didn’t have to cut the grass for most of it. We have had rain lately so the cutting continues. Grass is high again. Weird weather for sure.

being from mInniesoda I hear ya on frozen pipes.. Winter weather , sounds like your living on wet tundra, Uggh!
We’re headed back North on a cruise next early June, fingers crossed for good weather and hopefully Glacier Bay will be clear for us for a change, and the magnetic poles don’t shift and the glaciers all melt at once.. altho I should have enough batteries for the cameras just in case. :-}
