MSNBC president Phil Griffin spoke to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Marisa Guthrie about his network, and the state of the cable news competition.
Griffin was candid, saying that there is a certain Fox News personality he would love to poach:
THR: Is there an on-air personality on another network that you would like to have? Griffin: Yes. I don’t know if I should say this. [Fox News anchor] Shep Smith. I just like his way. I like everything about him.

No one watches FOX News BECAUSE of Shepard Smith, they watch it in spite of him.
They can take Chris Hahn as well. I’m sick of his creepy grin.
And take that obnoxious, arrogant, pompous woman - Jehmu something or other. I have to turn the sound off when she’s on. She brings out the angry in me.
I think there’s a real chance Akin could still win, despite his gaffe. Missouri voters just don’t like McKasikill all that much.
Why is he still employed at Fox? I can’t watch his news program. The guy is a creepy weirdo. The SNL skit about him was right on the money.
I thought they would’ve gotten rid of him by now.

Why Ailes kept Shep after he breathlessly reported that people were eating each other in the Super Dome during Katrina I’ll never know. He should have been kicked off the Fox team immediately. That was the worst coverage by anyone of any event.
