And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
Hey, I found 2 brand new CR2 batteries in my range bag Sunday. Is that what the Vortex uses? Cause I can’t figure out why I have them. If those are for the Vortex, I’ll get them to you.
Good night, Luvie! Yes, we’re gonna give ‘em heck!
LOL. I read that this morning but didn’t dare reply.
Hugs and good night kisses.
I so miss you!
I think that was for last night, right? Perhaps I’m confused, although I did get a very good night’s sleep (11 hours).
Dunno brother.
I have never even gotten time to sight that Vortex Strike Fire in.
I was gonna bring it on this trip and dial it in but fooled around with the CMMG AR 15 .22 conversion instead.
It worked like a hose.
No FTF or FTE
You captured what your eye saw...and that’s a good thing! :)
Ruh Roh...
Check your shoe for sixes LOL
EEK! I got the evil number! LOL!
Post# 396 is dated today, 10/9, and Jim says that they’re in a Holiday Inn, so they’re probably all right.
Yeah, I worry about him too.
And I REALLY have to get to bed. [smiles]
He’ll be ok. He is well taken care of by loving people. :)
I would have ordered a chocolate malt too. Too hard to pass up, especially at a roadside place called HEALTH CAMP!
It was not a proper malt.
Everything else was spot on.
Pretty decent lunch
Jim’s been posting the incoming today, so he’s doing great, wherever he is! I’m guessing on the road, but what do I know?
Good night again, more hugs and kisses from your First Darling.
Only 28 days till the Marxist is VOTED OUT and his media bubble bursts.
Keep praying.
Last I heard he was in SE AZ
I understand. I love the old time drug store “proper” malts.
As a kid (age 8-10) we used to walk to the corner drug store 4 blocks away, sit at the counter and I think those malts were 15 cents and the plain milk shakes were 10 cents. Of course, you understand, I’m older than dirt.
WOW. Chris is in a hurry to get home. God bless him.
It distresses me that malts are disappearing.
I used to hang at this place in The Old Lady’s hood.

SMILING!
I remember Frosty’s Drive-In’s in San Diego.
I wonder whether they’re the same chain. Look like it.
mmmm...reminds me of the homemade rootbeer at Schilo’s Deli in San Antonio. GOTTA go back there some time, MY!
LOL! I WEAR 6’s. :)
