And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
I want a Nikon digital SLR, but they are pricey!!
I would have been white knuckled too! Probably would have just asked to be dropped off at the nearest bus stop.....lol!! I am too neurotic for 100 mph on a bumpy crowded road like that!! I would have had a major panic attack and meltdown....lol.
Why am I see’n the dreaded red X next to the pics?
~~~spew~~~~ LOL!
They have a septic system, which means no tp down the toilet. We have a septic system at the place where my mother lives and toss most of the tp in the trash. The - uhm - gross tp stuff gets flushed. Cottage 1 & 2 have only one bathroom ~ not sure how that will work out with 6/8 people. I'd appreciate you talking to your friend for some inside info. Thanks!
LOL!
I'm vowing not to miss the next one!! I'm not far...up here in N.E. OK. It's just a scheduling thing...
I've got plenty of fun things to shoot!!! : )
And I can cook!!
See you all next year...God willing, and the creeks don't rise!!
I need a Sony SLR digital body to use my Minolta lenses.
But as you said, it’s pricey.
That 8 ball is hanging there like a big meatball.
Start getting your schedule ready for early June.
And we all like people that can cook. ;-)
I love margaritas, but I have to stick to tequila shooters (which are great as well!) because the triple sec would be too sugary for me. In Puerto Vallarta in the late 70’s, a margarita was tequila and lime juice. That was all. And they packed a punch that you would not believe. Sigh...
Those were the days.
Never quit drinking. It makes you sigh and say, “Those were the days.”
Thank God, and Praise God that BK is okay without any serious damage by a car or another animal. I’m so glad you were able to get him to the Vet and that he was able to examine him.
Oh yeah, time to make them make friends so all can have the run of the house with Abby. She’s already used to BK.
Will call her in the am and get back to you ASAP.
I had to crop some stuff out of that picture, but just didn’t seem proper to crop out the elixir.
