And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
It does. I do admire the spirit of individualism of Texans. Texas is a big state, and includes a variety of landscape, with plains, hill country and coast. Some day I will be there to visit, and to finally see it for myself.
Here’s a link to the range in Liberty Hill.

Also a new one in Walburg:
This place is 5 min from the range in Walburg:

It’s about 15 min northeast of Georgetown.
Thanks Dave! They look like good venues!
Ha ha ha ha! What would you do without me? DON'T ANSWER THAT!!!
Most people say, "I don't know, but I'd sure like to try." Huh, Gunner?
And many more to come!
Dat’s what I am talking about brother!
This TCMS thing has devolved to food and fun, but the truth is it was always that way.
Po Ol' Lefty! LOL
Texas Firing Line looks pretty cool!
How much would it cost to rent a TAC Bay for the day?
That looks great Dave.
Yom. Love German food! :)
Glad you all got home safe and sound! :)
That looks really cool! Could not figure out the set up though. Sounded like a house and then three cottages? How many people can stay there in all?
It looks awesome!!
One more thing. I’m a member here:
I could call and find out if we could rent one of the tactical bays for a day. I don’t know if they allow that, but I can find out if y’all want me to.
We can plan from there.
When I arrive I'll kick the door. (’cause my hands will be full)
We’ve only done the central Texas German gig once in New Braunfels, and it was most memorable.
Don’t be rude!
Knock with yer noggin!!
Oh! That’s great news. Maybe it will all get used up, and you can get some more next year.
I’m delighted that DrO loves it!
Indeed it was. :)
