And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
That is so beautiful. If you took that shot, I have to say that it is perfectly composed.
He was busy watching Football...
Loved that story too!! I am game on finding another floater I guess...lol. I really am looking forward to seeing mylife’s lease too. It sounds beautiful and that river tennis ball game sounds fun.
I did not take that shot.
I just got a crappy Nikon coolpix the other week and haven’t even had time to mess with it
I hate the delay on the shutter.
I suppose I should put it in video mode and select frames.
The Tennis ball thing is a riot!
Thanks for the pings back to the thread (read every post). OUTSTANDING!
Welcome aboard, Darth Theous! WOOOHOOOO!
It’s still beautiful. :)
Laz and Smokingfrog managed to launch a few tennis balls off dry land!
I don’t think Mr Schwenke was impressed, but I was. LOL
Texas is a bit austere but it has its quality’s
Frog was sweeping that range toward the end of the shoot.
Bing bang boom!
Thank you, sweet lady! Bryan and I made it all right, the cats survived being fed by a sitter, and the house is still standing! Life doesn’t get any better than that.
Except there was that dead, partially ate-up mouse on the kitchen floor, but some things can’t be helped.
The antique map that they had to use when the GPS failed...again.... LOL!
Should have guessed!! I am a worry wart, so pay no attention. Let me know when you guys are game for coming over for a cookout. We are ready most any weekend. Hubby needs to buy a new grill as the old one finally rusted out. Instead he went buying stereo equipment this weekend while I was gone ( eye roll). I didn’t moan too much though as he had that crown stuff since the 70’s..lol. Not sure why we need two woofers though. Maybe he is going through a mid life crisis. Better than him going to get a younger model wife I suppose....lol.
Ya just can’t depend on nuthin.
Hmmphhh!
Great picture.
Great place
I really like what your Mom has done with the place.
I zeroed in on that porch immediately.
I also like the punched tin tiles in the kitchen.
Cat sitters.....aren’t they the best thing ever invented?! We finally have one and it is so much better than boarding the poor creatures. Glad you made it home safe and sound! Now we are just waiting to hear from Jim, Sheila and Chris to sound the all clear.
