And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
We're in Louisville, Kentucky, for the night, and we'll be home tomorrow afternoon, please God.
I hope you see some shooting stars in Benson.
I saw a blazer the first night in Rockport (even with the tree canopy)
You should check our Kartchner caverns while you are there.
Are Helldorado days not happening in tombstone?
Looks like you are a couple of weeks early

Safe travels home to you both! Looks like Obama is falling behind in the polls!! That should help make your day a little brighter.
Well, the same clouds were in the sky! LOL! I look forward to
seeing YOUR pictures!
Heh. We saw some kids getting searched by troopers. Apparently, they didn’t understand their rights. (Very bad parents.)
Just say no, people. You can do it. “No, I do not consent to a search.” ...”Why, yes, as a matter of fact, I do have time to wait for the dogs.” ... “So, while we’re waiting, tell me about your last bust.” ... “What’s that? Well, you have a nice day too, officer.”
I know, right? He’s so adorable.
Garsh...
*blush*
LOL
I second that motion!
Who is this other Buckeye in your life? Why does (s)he get invited instead of me?
;p
Oops! Lol...I don’t know. Wonder if they will show up?? LOL!!
Dear lady. You are the best n I hope that Tom treasures you for the gift you are. Thanks for updates n making those of us unable to attend to feel part if the festivities
The fine gent felt compelled to speak to me about the 73mph travel velocity and the lack of a front license plate.
We had a conversation, then he gave me a warning and we went our separate ways. He never even enquired about the contents of the car. He surely had to “know” some of them but never asked.
Boy, howdy. Did I ever foul up... again. The first time Sheila tried to use that tiny little bathroom and that’s all she wrote. We’re now holed up over at the Holiday Inn. And that’s just one more thing she’ll have to bug me about for the rest of my life. That woman never forgets a thing.
Epic fail!!
My illusions of your omnipotence have been shattered!
She done Zotted your choice of accommodations.
Moved your lodging plans to Chat.
Just damn.
Jim, I get the same thing from my wife (NanaJ) and the response is always the same, said with a big ol’ cheese-eating grin: “Where’s your spirit of adventure?”
Gas advice - the Valero at Valencia and I-10 Tucson’s south side has about the cheapest good gas between you and the California border. You can also get it at about the same price at the AM/PM at Orange Grove Rd. and I-10 on the north side of town.
Phoenix will be at least 20 cents more (3.67 vs. 3.43) per gallon. The Valero is around exit 266 or so, so that’s how far you are from the CA border if you stay on I-10.
Safe travels, boss!
I done been zotted.
I’m laughing picturing the tongue lashing you got. She is a character. Better luck next time, darlin’.
