And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.

TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.

Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMom’s Kick Ass Enchilada’s.

The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.

Friday evening we will meet at Captain Benny’s, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)

Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Faye’s, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenke’s Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as “home base”. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.

Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!

According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixty’s, highs in the mid-eighty’s.

Wish I could make the day trip, but it would take a whole weekend, and I don’t think I have one coming anytime soon. :(

Have done the preliminaries this AM, humble. Have one problem yet to be worked out and this one problem may keep me and better half away for this year. Only one cabin left and I entered late to attempt to make it there. My error. There is always next year if this year does not work out. Trying not to buy Laz's tagline though of WAAAAHHH!

LOL (not at you Laz) ... need a 50 cal. machine gun like the kitteh has in the vid. That would be fun. Never fired a 50 cal. myself. Bet I would go WAAAAHHH too humble. Hands would take weeks to recover but for fun would fire one report then walk away shaking head along with the rest of me to never pick up a fifty again.

yes ... have been talking with better half and there is one minor problem to work out yet. I came into wanting to be there late. My error. Only one cabin is left and there has to be a time-line to work out that minor problem to free up for trip. The time-line will take nearly a week and a half to work out the minor problem and the minor problem may not be able to be worked out. Uncertain at this point. May not make it this year but there is always next year. Can start early next year and not be late, as am, this year if does not work out. Working to make it happen, if possible, and will be disappointed if unable to be there. Would love to meet everyone (there) in person. Know will be missing the fun, if not there; therefore may have to buy Laz’s tagline.
