And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
That’s fine, as long as I’m squeezed in there somewhere!
Heh. You’ll fit right in.
He grumbles a bit, but he does spoil the heck out of me every chance he gets.
*I* didn't! Duty, responsibility and honor PALE in comparison to the Texas shoot. :)
All I need is a job and 15 minutes to pack.
Know anyone looking for a sharp semiconductor process engineer?
We were planning to spend Wednesday evening in Fort Worth, dear man.
We’re the kind of riffraff you get when you extend an open invitation to dinner, LOL!
might also be handy...
Since we can’t check in to the cottage, we were planning to spend Wednesday evening in Fort Worth, dear man.

Cool! High-class neighbors!
LOL...I take in all kinds of folks and critters...
“Ok. You convinced me. Ill have the brisket! Will any kind of oak wood do ya? I have tons and tons on my property.”
I use live oak. I use the wood that I trim from my trees and the small lower branches that have a tendency to die due to the lack of sunlight. I have 8 acres and lots of oak.
We’re in! Just made our reservation.

I respectfully suggest that everyone very carefully read the terms and conditions of renting Cypress Creek Cottages.
There are some pricy errors that can be made if renters are unaware of the consequences.
For example: this place charges plenty for just about everything, including a hefty fee if the cottage isn’t clean when you leave.
The open display of guns and firing guns (well, okay) are not permitted, and the “perp” will be evicted without a refund.
Your money will not be refunded for any reason whatsoever, including early checkout, and if a “refund” is in order, it will be in the form of a credit (which expires in 90 days) for your next stay.
Avoid extra fees being charged to your already overburdened credit cards by toeing the T’s & C’s line there.
Yippee!!
Just heard from the thackney family on Facebook, they have a cottage reserved.
By my count there are now seven cabin reserved.
I can’t wait to meet them. [huge grin]
I don’t know if you’ve discussed this further with the others (I just got home), but y’all might think about joining us in Ft. Worth like last time and caravan down to Wimberly with us. :)
Your hubby sounds like mine. Rolls his eyes, but lets me get away with most anything. I think mine loves it that I have found fellow travelers so he can stay home and watch tv 24/7. LOL!
I’m workin’ on him to come with me this next time, though. He’s missing out on so much!
*like*
Where is that darn like button! :)
Wife????
BB did you forget to tell me something? LOL!
