And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.

TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMom’s Kick Ass Enchilada’s.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Benny’s, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Faye’s, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenke’s Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as “home base”. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixty’s, highs in the mid-eighty’s.
I know...I’d love to be there, too. :)
Not possible so soon after the last trip, but I hope they have much fun! :)

We are excited to have everyone over. ice would probably be a good idea. I have a small ice maker that doesn’t always keep up. I got everything else covered. It will be fun!
Didn’t want those cottages to get booked. lol

I already love the hill country so I expect that I’ll really love this area. I’d LOVE to move to central Texas. :)
I had to get from just-waking-up to full speed ahead in 5 minutes! I haven’t moved that fast in years. LOL!
Wish you could be here. I worked all day getting most of my plants in the greenhouse and doing some fall gardening chores. Everything looks naked outside with no plants sitting around....lol. BK got in another fight with that cat today. I went tearing through the woods to chase him away. I may have to trap that other cat. He is causing too many problems. My little grey ferrel cat that has been here for 4 years hardly comes around anymore and she really needs me in the winter to survive. She has her own little warming pad in a cozy igloo and the greenhouse to seek shelter in. Maybe if I get that problem cat fixed he will calm down.
That man is a take-the-bull-by-the-horns kind of a guy!

Yep! you’re even closer, but just too far away! Pen’s home is beyond beautiful! Everyone will have the best time. Twinge of envy here, but so happy our DFW close friends are getting together!!!!

Wish you could come! Can’t wait to see ya in June though! Wimberly is awesome! I even have some ancestors in the cemetery there that I discovered years ago. Never even knew that any of my people settled there....lol. There is an awesome blue hole near there on the Guadalupe that has some waterfalls. Very pretty spot to go for a wade and swim.

Poor BK. He’s trying to own and take care of his territory and his own home! That other cat will likely have to be trapped. That cat has obviously scared the grey kitty and you can’t have that! She needs her warm bed and food. I’ve read that scrambled eggs put into a cage will easily trap cats. Poor BK will have to be kept inside in order to trap that mean cat.
Yes, though we can’t all make it to DFW for the latest partay, we do have June to look forward too. Knowing this far in advance...just where we’ll be and what we’ll be all doing together...makes me antsy for the time to come. The excitement will continue to build as people get their reservations and we talk more about it.
And normally I don’t like to push time. LOL!
