And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.

TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMom’s Kick Ass Enchilada’s.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Benny’s, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Faye’s, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenke’s Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as “home base”. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixty’s, highs in the mid-eighty’s.
Cottage # 10 (2 bedroom) is reserved. Next to the creek.

I will talk to hubby about booking our cottage early. Our son is getting married the weekend before the 8th in Austin...so money is already tight, but I will see what we can do. He is gonna give me grief about the outlays of monies right now, so wish me luck.....lol.
I will be ready to let lose fer sure after all the wedding stresses....so somebody better bring lots of margaritas!! LOL!!

Now comes the difficult part . . . finding good restaurants.

Yes, you must pay for your reservation in full when you book. Their cancellation policy is $100 fee per cottage with no specified advance notice. They prefer that you reschedule if you can’t make it for whatever reason. There is no fee/cost to do that. They’ll just move your reservation to your newly selected date(s).

I booked cottage 6, so I have plenty of room for you and Dr.O, should he come. There is one bedroom, two twin beds in loft and sofa sleeper. Don’t panic cause I have room if all the cottages book up.
