Massacre leaves liberals in tears
NY Post ^ | 10/4/12 | JOHN PODHORETZ

Slaughter. It was a slaughter.

Mitt Romney put on the most commanding presidential debate performance of the insta-commentary era. One could literally watch, on Facebook and Twitter, hundreds of people on both sides of the political divide react in real time as the debate went on.

Their reactions were identical, though their moods were not: As Romney dominated exchange after exchange with a surprisingly effective combination of pointed personal touches and remarkable factual preparation, conservatives and Republicans grew more and more jubilant while liberals and Democrats grew more and more alarmed.

I'm going with Bambi was overconfident in his God like powers and God allowed his arrogance, foolishness and naked idiocy to be shown to the entire world.

It was a treat to watch.

It would be like me playing one on one against Michael Jordan. I could prepare or not prepare. In the end it wouldn’t make a whit of difference. Zero lost because he sucks.

The blonde in the back is dreaming of becoming a “Sister/Wife”. The brunette standing next to her is re-evaluating her decision to come to the gay bar.

“One thing is certain, last nights performance will not recur; the left will make sure of that”.

We do agree, I think even Obama will make sure of that.

Not entirely surprising. In terms of raw intelligence, Obama is way sharper than McCain. However, there’s no way Obama is smarter than Romney. This kind of fast-twitch smarts is what counts in a debate. Like it or not, Romney is nouveau riche, and that means he earned every penny of what he made, rather than inheriting it the old-fashioned way.

I believe it was the performance of an affirmative action baby who has always been petted and placed ahead of his peers based on false assumptions. Last night he was really confronted for the first time.

Well said. I completely agree.

“I believe it was the performance”

Act or performance, I just can’t quite grasp that it was the “real” Obama. I would love to believe it, but...

It was no act. Obama was adrift. This is what comes from 4 years of a fawning press and living an unserious 'Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous' episode. He hasn't been challenged on any level since his debates with Hillary, and she hardly landed a blow. He doesn't know how to react when pushed or challenged. He thinks that all he has to do is say something is so and it's so. When do you think the last time was that someone stood toe to toe with him, in public, and called him a failure and explained why he's a failure? Never!

I watched the debate on CSpan because they used a split screen all night and you saw nothing but the two of them side by side all through the debate. The difference was more stark than night and day. Romney looked at obama through out the debate, he addressed every comment, answer and rebuttal directly to obama. While obama NEVER looked at Romney. He looked down, he pouted, he addressed Lehrer or the audience, but never Romney.

The GOP primary got Romney in Olympic competition shape. obama's had it soft. And let's not forget, obama's no match for Mitt in the brain power department either. And it showed.

“Stupid is, as Stupid Debates.” The debater versus the master-debater , finally the country realizes the “the emperor has no clothes.”

Arguing with a liberal is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how well you play chess, the pigeon just knocks over the pieces, craps on the board, and struts around like he won.

Now that is funny!

It’s not just obozo, the leftist commentators will line up and commend his performance on foreign policy no matter what he says.

Make sure to look further down - I’d left out the pigeon-like utterances you’ll hear.

Watch and see what the commentators say about his performance on foreign policy. Even if he sounds like Sponge Bob, he’ll be awarded the prize.

Obama was, is, and always will be an affirmative action idiot. And that was shown to the whole world last night.

He is in over his head and it’s time for the grownups to take charge.

“You saw the real Obama. The empty suit that has been protected and coddled by the press and his handlers (but I repeat myself) his entire career”.

Well I may have to return after the next debate and say, you all told me so! I just can’t bring myself to the point that dems are that stupid.

The debate is a nice example of what happens when an academic compares notes to a business man.

We saw theory and lecturing vs. real-world and experience. Remember, the only other experience Great Leader has is in Community Organizing and very soft types of social science activities. The money which funds Community Organizing comes from some mystery place the organizers do not understand nor care to consider. Results and success from Community Organizing amount to having the activity in the paper with little to no follow-up to see what's happening six months later. This is a great way to define the last three and a half years. Lots of photo-ops, lots of starts and talk and lectures -- but no real follow-through afterwards.

Business, on the other hand, has to earn its money and it has to keep moving forward with tangible results. In business, the other option is failure. In Community Organizing, the next step is a new project with more grant money from, again, that mystery place.

This was also a geat debate because everyone was allowed to see both candidates without the filtering support of the MSM.

What does Spongebob's foreign policy platform look like? I may be about ready to go for that.
