A Philadelphia high school teacher is under investigation after she reportedly ordered a student to take off a t-shirt supporting Mitt Romneys presidential campaign and compared the shirt to a Ku Klux Klan sheet.
The incident occurred at Charles Carroll High School in Port Richmond. When the student refused the order, she tried to throw the girl out of class.
The teacher reportedly told the 16-year-old student that the high school was a Democratic school and then threatened to use a marker to cross out Romneys name.
Philadelphia School District spokesman Fernando Gallard confirmed to Philly.com that, a teacher made some comments to a student wearing a Romney t-shirt in their classroom.
The comments were of a political nature, and also of a personal nature, he told the newspaper. We are looking into the comments, and the conduct of the teacher.

To threaten a student could be considered, at least, harassment and/or bullying. Both are which should be against school rules. If the teacher would have actually carried out her threat to cross out then that would have been considered assault.
Celebrate diversity! - As long as you agree with (so-called) liberal agenda. Otherwise resistance must be crushed!
The Ku Klux Klan has been moribund for about half a century. The Left needs to find a new straw man.
For the left, what goes around comes around. George Orwell wrote about his time fighting in Spain with socialists. He said that the term `fascist’ became so degraded that eventually it came to mean `anything disagreeable,’ e.g. `I think our drinks have been watered by that fascist waiter.’
Here it looks like the teacher found Romney disagreeable, so the kid wearing the shirt must have been racist, or at least the shirt was racist. I worked in an office with Obama fanatics. There was no reasoning with them.
Recall there was another instance where an Obama teacher ordered her class to vote for Obama. And these are only instances being reported.

I go round and round with friends I know in the South and those very things I bring up. Plus - they call it the War of Northern Aggression. Oh? So who fired the first shots on Ft. Sumter? Who invaded the North almost to DC? (Bull Run/Manassas)? Then too, they talked about Yankee destruction. Please tell me about Andersonville and Ft. Pillow. Shuts them up every time.
I stand corrected.
It’s also been called “The War of Southern Independence’’. Independence for whom? Southern slaves? I always way hit them with ‘’It’s mighty curious to see people who call themselves conservatives venerating of bunch of Dixiecrats.’’ That one shuts them up too.
Right. I forgot about that one. If they wanted to be independent then why call it a civil war? The interpretation of a civil war would be akin to a war between Republicans and Democrats to take over the Union. The South wanted to go their own way. The first newspapers came out with the headlines stating “The Union Is Dissolved”
If you really want to see how the “Lost Causers’’ react, get on one of any number of threads dealing with The Civil War here. Fair warning though, some of these “Confederates’’ can be vicious.
Shuts them up.... Probably because such a statement is so profoundly ignorant and intellectually lacking they figure, why bother?
What tickles me is that people in the north think they have inherited some imagined moral high ground, when the facts are, there were more slave states under the US flag than there were under the Confederate flag, the war did NOT begin with the intention of freeing the slaves, and that there is NOTHING moral about freeing the black man while at the same time denying liberty to white Southerners. (A demonstration of hypocrisy totally lost on northerners.)
Such facts usually are enough to shut up even the most ignorant “Civil War” debaters, but some the less intelligent ones just can’t help themselves.
Nice try “Ghost’’. I’ll say it again. I find it mighty curious to see people calling themselves conservatives coming to a conservative website venerating a bunch of racist Southern plutocrats who were democrats. The bottom line is Mr. “Lost Causer’’ is once a Democrat always a Democrat. I know damn well the history. No, it wasn’t Lincoln initial intention to free the slaves but the South certainly wasn’t fighting to free them either. ‘’The ‘’liberty’’ you claim denied to white Southerners was the right of a class to own slaves and property, the war the South started wasn’t of any benefit to poor white Southerners.
Thanks. Yeah, I’ve run into them here. When you seem to be logical with your answers they come back in personal attacks even though it’s not allowed. They do it because they have no answer. Just like Dems.
“I believe our culprit is the English teacher”
Says here it was a geometry teacher: http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/341673/28/Teacher-compares-RomneyRyan-t-shirt-to-KKK
Indeed they do. Just look at what “Lees Ghost’’ posted to me(34 of 36). Mild compared to some of the stuff I’ve had hurled at me.
Yep. They still want their segregation and their separate but equal nonsense. He is right however saying it wasn’t a war to free the slaves. All slaves had to do was get across into northern states before being hunted down. That’s what the 14th. Amendment was all about. The Emancipation Proclamation was nonsense too. It didn’t free any slave. It was basically an executive order by Lincoln. It was pandering to the border states which were slave states that did not declare their secession from the United States before April 1861.
Lord, son. You’re so far off base you’re in left field. I can loathe slavery but still defend the motivations.
You are using 21st century words and beliefs and wrongly applying them to 19th century perspectives. And that which made a democrat a democrat in 1860 is completely different than that of today’s democrat. Apples and oranges.
Nest, you don’t have to be a Lost Causer to discuss the pros and cons the WBTS and all that goes with it. That’s just intellectual laziness people like you use to “dismiss” serious discussion.
If you had called slave owners of the time (both those in the north and the south) “racists” they would have had NO idea what you are talking about, nor would the abolitionists. And given that more than 3000 of said slave owners were black, it simply makes your comment (I’ll be nice) nonsense. Yes, by today’s thinking their (northerners and southerners) views on the black race were totally different then. Disgustingly different, but it was the perspective they held at that time.
“No, it wasnt Lincoln initial intention to free the slaves but the South certainly wasnt fighting to free them either.”
Then what’s your problem with my original comments?
“The liberty you claim denied to white Southerners was the right of a class to own slaves and property...”
Again...nonsense. The RIGHT I am talking about is the right to freely join a union of sovereign states...or to leave a union of sovereign states. A right that was hotly defended by both northern AND southern people at different times in our history leading up to the war.
Think about it (because, given your comments, it is obvious that you never have); Lincoln and the Union were saying to southerners, you do NOT have the freedom to leave this union. The liberty of a people to govern themselves — so fiercely fought for in the Revolutionary War — was denied. And if you had done any reading about Reconstruction whatsoever, you would know that southerners were treated far worse than the slaves ever were. Liberties and freedoms were almost non-existent.
By the way, “War Between the States” is the accurate description, as a “civil war” is one where people try to take over the government. The Confederates had no desire to take over the Union government...they simply wanted to be free to practice the principals of self rule established by the Founding Fathers and otherwise left alone.
Indeed. Look at that and the more recent post. Maybe you both might learn something.
